@whitesundesert As if the jobs just end after you do one 🤣. Change the oil, clean the gutters, mow, build a deck, remodel the kitchen, repair cars/mowers/appliances. Plow and till the garden. There is always the next job.

@bandorexic 10 cal/step would literally be a death sentence for almost anyone. I average between 5-6k steps/day and have had as many as 20k in a day.

@SamaHoole Serious question what if I want strength increase with the least possible size increase. Being thin and flexible makes my job much easier. I want health and strength with minimum size gains.

Every man lives two lives.⠀ ⠀ The second begins the day he realises that two sets of six builds more muscle than four sets of twelve, in half the time, with a quarter of the recovery cost.⠀ ⠀ Because the only thing that produces hypertrophy is high-quality reps performed in close proximity to failure. Specifically, the final five.⠀ ⠀ Heavy loads are simply the easier vehicle for getting there.⠀ ⠀ There's less afferent feedback, less lactic burn, less screaming from the metabolites telling you to stop before the working fibres have actually been challenged.⠀ ⠀ There's more focus and more quality control, because each set lasts twenty seconds rather than forty to sixty, and the nervous system can stay sharp across all of it.⠀ ⠀ There's more strength carryover, because the loads are heavy enough to demand explosive intent on every single rep.⠀ ⠀ And there's less fatigue, so the growth stimulus survives intact across the exercise, the session, and the week.⠀ ⠀ It becomes a straightforward decision once you:⠀ ⠀ - Accept there is only one true driver of hypertrophy⠀ - Understand that more is not better⠀ - Accept that better is better

@psypharmacopeia Yet rock climbers can match people 3x their size on gym equipment. The body builders are used to that equipment while the rock climbers is not. There is more to it than specificity

How many push-ups (all the way down and up, zero cheating) do you think the average guy can do? Not gym rat. AVERAGE guy. If I had to guess, I would set the over/under at 8.5. Maybe lower.

@GigaBasedDad Thats not really accurate. People get gluten free because it doesn’t contain wheat, but wheat is more than gluten. I myself have no problem with gluten but don’t do well with most wheat. However Organic non GMO wheat is just fine and doesn’t bother me at all.

@HazelAppleyard $10 per pushup is the way to go. Definitely get more that way. Right now I get paid nothing for pushups and do 100/day. If I could quit my job and just do pushups for a living I could easily increase the reps per day.

There's a "conspiracy theory" that the Rockefeller Foundation, in the 1950s, was primarily responsible for the decision to change the musical tuning from 432 Hz to 440 Hz. I know that frequencies actively affect our bodies, and this example would be something similar, explaining it through cymatics to help you understand why the change occurred.

@Michaeldudufudu People had it hard back then too. Just in a different way. Education, Housing and Healthcare seem to be the problem now. The big issue there is housing and healthcare aren’t really optional. In the old days general merchandise was way more expensive. They struggled to get stuff.
