It has been an honor to serve the state of Tennessee with Bill. We will cherish our memories of these past 8+ years and will always be grateful to you and to the Lord for this great adventure. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives.

I enjoyed being able to put more books into the hands of our children. Tennessee has come a long way in education and literacy, and I look ahead with hope toward progress in the future.

On my last day as First Lady, I took the opportunity to deliver the last of my books to several librarians, principals and faculty of elementary schools who work hard every day to make sure our TN students are successful.

Today, in the nick of time, we released our new Tennessee Residence garden book, Far Hills: Reviving a Governor’s garden, telling the story of the revival of the landscape and grounds of this historic home that Bill and I have been privileged to live in the past eight years.

Championing the @TNImagination program to help make sure every child has access to books has been one of the great honors of my time as First Lady. Thanks to @dollyparton for her incredible heart for TN children & for helping us celebrate 14 yrs of the Imagination Library!

Today, after many months of hard work & careful consideration & planning, with the help of so many dedicated visionaries, the new @tnstatemuseum is open to the public! Now generations of Tennesseans have an incredible place to learn and reflect on their rich history & heritage!

Bill & I loved hosting this event again this year to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s research w/the @WeBackPat Foundation. Thank you to Peyton & Archie Manning, @LukeBryanOnline & all of the Nashville restaurants that donated their time & energy in honor of @patsummitt
