Spanking was common in normal American households a couple decades ago, it's just that Millennials and Gen Z are neurotics terrified by the thought of exerting power over another human being.

@revenant_MMXX A parent who resorts to spanking is literally using child abuse to regulate their own emotions. The kid learned the bad behavior from the parent. The parent doesn't want to acknowledge that about themselves so they blame and beat the child to calm themselves down.

The best pro-spanking people can say is that it doesn't really do anything (so let me use the laziest possible "parenting" technique instead of actually parenting my kid)
