England is debt-ridden, going bust, with few assets. It is in terminal decline - a poor country pretending to be rich. If allowed, it will drag Scotland down with it. Its flawed political/economic system extracts wealth from its people, especially its poorest, effectively mortgaging their children's future to enrich a southeast elite. Time to get out, for our children's sake. 🙏

@CromartyHugh @SimonForrest11 Most of the world would agree with it. You need to broaden your horizons in regard to information. The bbc tends to sell one line only. But hey. Ignorance is bliss.

The UK is in total chaos, it’s not just a storm in a teacup, it’s an existential change for Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales & it’s time to say Cheerio to pathetic Westminster control & make our own way 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

@Ross_Greer Or maybe you’ve finally reached an age of maturity, where you are seeing student politics don’t work, and political choices have to be made within the context of the real world. Who knows, Ross? You might even become a Tory one day if you travel down this road. 😁

Maybe at some point we should talk about how British democracy is effectively subservient to 'market forces'? You can't just ignore the bond markets, but it's hardly genuine democracy when the choices of elected representatives (and voters!) are constrained like this.
Paul Johnson@PJTheEconomist

Starmer and Reeves are not kidding when they say this political uncertainty causes economic damage. The only “reset” being achieved at the moment is higher borrowing costs. Result? We’re all worse off. So deeply depressing.

Just heard a rumour that the British government "bribed" Sir Radcliffe to close the Grangemouth oil refinery? Scotland needs to reopen it urgently.

@CromartyHugh @AngusBMacNeil @afneill @cne_siar It seems like the union is working really well for Northern Ireland and Wales and really badly for the south east of England. I take it SE England are keen to jettison Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland whilst they're are fixed on staying, aye?

CAN’T EMPHASISE THIS ENOUGH.. What’s wrong in wanting just SCOTTISH Parties to be elected for the SCOTTISH Parliament in SCOTLAND. Rich English Parties just want Representation in order to prevent the Parliament from running smoothly and efficiently. History has proven this.

Scotland returned a fifth pro independence government. Regardless of whether you support independence or not, the question is do you support democracy.

“Part of becoming independent is about thinking independently...” – Alex Salmond. This to me is probably the most important part of the final social media post made by Alex Salmond on Twitter. So many independence supporters are thinking in terms of political parties, of independence through the legislation of devolution and of following the carrot of independence dangled in front of them by the English State. This is the honey pot set up by the Tory/Labour Cartel of England. It’s not that the legislation is not there to deliver independence it’s that devolution is designed to suck you in and keep independence just out of reach. For independence to actually happen we need to ignore devolution and it’s honey pot of false hope. We must take the initiative away from the English establishment and bring it back into the hands of the sovereign people of Scotland. After all it is from us that the powers of the Scottish State will come from so it is only right that we the people make Scottish independence happen. The devolved Parliament building at Holyrood is the perfect place for independence supporting Scots to gather in our full numbers and announce to the world that Scotland is independent. The politicians inside of every party could not deny a massive occupation of Holyrood, they could not deny the streets of Edinburgh grinding to a halt for days if need be under the number of Scots on its street. The first part of becoming independent is to stop thinking in terms the English State wants the Scottish to think, the second part is to act in ways the English State do not want the Scottish to act, the third is for the Scottish people to deliver our independent Scottish State into existence. LORD 'HeeHaw' and SIR Tom 'Warmer' have got an issue with Scotland leaving the 'Union'... I wonder why? Maybe because their titles and peerages will mean fuckall in an independent Scotland. 🤔

@LoudenDW Tremendous SNP logic here 🤦🏻 Do you understand the economics of wind turbines… the infrastructure is costly and needs to be paid for. That is done via CfDs. The marginal cost is free…but (and this is bit SNP really doesn't get) only works if the other bits are paid for.

Another day with no gas used in Scotland to generate electricity but all of our bills based on high cost gas. We can't sort this in the UK. We can only fix it by leaving.
