I don’t think I "know better" than KDH, I just don’t treat a player quote like gospel. Players praise their managers all the time. It’s part respect, part politics, part dressing‑room culture. It doesn’t automatically mean the coach is elite. KDH has only worked under a handful of managers, none of them close to Guardiola’s level, so his reference point is limited. Fans watch the full picture, the patterns, the mistakes, the in‑game decisions, the results. & on that level, Maresca’s flaws were obvious. If Chelsea had appointed a proper manager & we were top 4 right now, nobody would be rewriting Maresca as a genius. They’d remember him exactly as he was, a coach with a nice idea, but nowhere near the level people are pretending.
