I guess Elon just helped make my Twitter exodus permanent. I’ll be abandoning this site now. Find me over on Mastodon. Things are nice over there.

@mistersql I use a third-party client that gives me a strictly-chronological timeline with no algorithm shenanigans, so I only see tweets from people I follow. It’s glorious. I just sit back and watch everyone run around angry about the algorithm while none of the effects impact me. 🙃

I think if Twitter was shadowbanning competing company's links/mentions, the effect would be felt most intensely in algorithm recommended posts. If you turn of the algo or only read the people you follow & vica versa, then the effects shouldn't show up that strongly.

twitter dot com wasn’t loading in my phone’s browser but would in a private tab, so I deleted cache data for the site. Now I can get to the site, but can no longer log in because my account still has 2FA via text message enabled and that service died weeks ago at El*n’s hand. 😂
