BrownDust 2 is now being censored in the home country of Korea. In a tragic "emergency broadcast", the lead creator came with an update. They are once again being forced to censor characters or else go EOS in Korea. What is being censored is large breasted women. Due to the use of suggestive fluids, "suggestive interactions" and "Certain body parts", the government is telling them it is either censor or go EOS in Korea. The global server is unaffected. But to be silenced and censored in your own home country for fiction is unforgivable. @BROWNDUST2_KR is a treasure of a game and unapologetic in its exploration of beautiful art. What a waste of time and tax payer dollars that there is any focus on the censorship of fiction. If they were violating some sort of marketing law, ok. But this game is for adults, marketed only to adults.

Brown Dust 2 is getting censored IN SOUTH KOREA.
South Korea has been ratcheting up censorship in the past few years, criminalizing a lot of fictional content, including sexualized loli content... treating it the SAME as real CSAM.
In that climate, games like Brown Dust 2, which contain a lot of lewd artwork of mature characters, would naturally get scrutiny. For now, they are removing visual depictions of some body parts with associated fluids and animations for their own domestic market.
Even in the absence of further criminal acts and a push for more censorship, this will create a chilling effect, which will stifle the creativity of the artists working on the game.
Earlier in the year, they removed any age labels to reduce accusations of producing content that could run afoul of SK's censorship regime. In this case, the censorship applies to clearly adult characters, Olivier, and Palette's specific costumes and associated cutscenes.
Clearly a case where their increasing censorship regime is taking an inch, and then taking a mile... and I'm afraid other games from South Korea will be affected in the future as well, such as Nikke and Stellar Blade.
South Korea is also one of the few developed nations that still bans pornography, while they have one of the lowest fertility rates in the world.

I actually like Subnautica 2 more than the first.
Being able to kill leviathans with a knife made you feel powerful against an enemy that was horrifying and assumed to be unkillable
And thus, the fear factor could be reduced if you were skilled enough
Now? There is no fighting back.
There is no reduction of fear.
There is just you, the ocean, and it's inhabitants. And you look like a VERY appeasing lunch to them
I think that makes the game more terrifying, and in turn, much better.

Subnautica 2 devs say "go play Sons of the Forest" if you don't like its lack of violence. The game focuses on underwater exploration, and you cannot kill most creatures. On the official Discord, one player asked why killing is impossible in SN2 as it makes no sense. Level designer Artyom O’Rielly replied, “This is not a killing game, so go play Sons of the Forest if you want to kill.” Another developer said, “The team discusses this a lot inside the studio and may let players catch small fish for food, but large creatures will stay safe so the game feels right.” This idea comes from the first Subnautica, as the team wants players to discover things, feel wonder, and live with ocean life instead of fighting it. A fan-made mod already lets players kill creatures, and the studio is reading all feedback. It plans to add better ways to scare off creatures but will not add weapons. Early access is expected to last up to 3 years.
