And I wonder if this was Darts PR team and he just went and did it or did they run it by the Giants and they gave the go ahead? I would think the Giants knew Dart was doing this, gave their blessing and just never considered that there might be fallout. 😬

@CrunchTimeVIP @NikkiNic9384 I think you're wrong (especially about, if Dart plays poorly people are going to connect it to a 2 second intro of the President) but we'll see. I think this is much more of an X story where EVERYTHING is politics than a real-life story where most people don't give a sh*t.

Once again people are missing my point 🙄 It’s about the Giants and their endless PR issues. I’m looking at this from the PR & media side of things. PR 101 - never give the media and the public an opportunity to start the fire, add fuel to the fire or take an optic and run with it. Dart announces Trump. Carter who based on his post seemingly has an issue with that. So he takes it to social media. Fire was started by Dart & fuel was added to it by Carter. Public takes it & runs with it. Now its a wildfire 🔥 Can they both say and do whatever they want? Yes. Do they both need a better understanding of how their actions impact public perception? Yes. Giants Communications team does provide training on PR and social media and they will use consultants too. Obviously athletes also have their own PR team. I have no idea who’s advising these guys. I know what I would advise as a PR professional whose job it is navigate sensitive issues like this. I really don’t know how I can explain this anymore clearly. My take is through the lens of PR. Not a fan or a political pundit. I try to break these things down so you guys can see the different angles. Just look at this through the PR lens. Sidenote: You might be surprised to learn that there are a lot of pro athletes and high profile individuals who do not align with your political views.

People are going to remember this for a while and especially in that market. During training camp teammates will be asked about it. Harbaugh is going to be asked about it. And most importantly, if Dart isn’t playing well, he is going to get asked about it. A for a player that needs to get off to a fast start this was unwise.
