Paradex’s airdrop stumbled for several reasons beyond just “hopium”: → Overpromised, underdelivered: They raised expectations too high without matching rewards, leaving holders disappointed. → Unclear mechanics: The distribution wasn’t transparent enough, so many felt allocations were unfair or confusing. → Liquidity shock: Once rewards dropped short, holders rushed to sell NFTs (boxes and Money Badgers), causing a sharp floor dump. → Weak utility: The NFTs didn’t have strong post‑airdrop use cases, so people saw little reason to hold long‑term. → Community communication gaps: Even with a strong base, lack of consistent updates and clarity eroded trust. → Execution issues: Technical or operational hiccups (delays, wallet captures, etc.) likely added frustration. Paradex failed because hype wasn’t backed by delivery, distribution lacked clarity, and utility wasn’t strong enough to sustain value, turning a strong community into a disappointed one.
