Ro Khanna’s position as expressed here is that Palestinians do not have a right to self defense because they don’t have a state. He states this in the Obamaesque framework of selective pacifism which is profoundly insulting to say the least

I never cared about the DNC thing and I never will. It’s probably the least consequential AOC controversy. She was trying to get leftists to vote for Harris, so what? She lied? I can’t see how that’s important or matters in the real world. And Harris lost anyway!

Crazy that this was sent from NYCDSA’s treasurer to all NPC members after the vote yesterday. Openly threatening a split with a detailed breakdown of how it would go, a breakdown that I have to assume wasn’t made immediately after the vote. Seems like this is their actual plan.

Socialists thinking they should have more say bc they contribute more money is wild. You have representation commensurate with your large membership at convention which makes sense but dues going to building a national organization shouldn’t feel so at odds with your interests.

DSA’s national leadership (the NPC) just voted to overturn our convention & took away rank and file members’ right to vote in an all-member poll on presidential endorsement. The NPC taking away our members’ right to vote while NYC-DSA members send them ~ $2M per year in dues.

@spacecalboy You need forms of leverage both within the state to a degree (congressional bloc) and outside the state (dual power, popular institutions) to even try to withstand the collosus and in the worst instances (Mitterand, Syriza) it blows up in ur face. Greek left hasn't recovered

@spacecalboy A socialist president for all intents and purposes to do more than stabilize the US with social democracy would have to cause multiple constitutional crisis, AOC is more a product of the democratic blob than anything (which u see best in her hawkish positions on eg. China)

@spacecalboy I think it's more of an issue with the idea DSA, or the socialist movement, HAVE to take power at a moment where we have no real congressional bloc, no political independence, and no real leverage over imperial structure that manufactures death and disposession around the world

If your organizing strategy can't survive a poll being moved to the chapters for regional context, it may be worth reconsidering your approach. A national campaign needs granular data about where we have capacity & enthusiasm, and where we still need to build momentum.
