Proof of this: last year at the national convention national DSA took a pretty significant shift to the left, to the point that they didn’t even endorse Zohran. None of that stopped the org from being associated with his win and getting new members because of him.

DSA’s national leadership (the NPC) just voted to overturn our convention & took away rank and file members’ right to vote in an all-member poll on presidential endorsement. The NPC taking away our members’ right to vote while NYC-DSA members send them ~ $2M per year in dues.
Crazy that this was sent from NYCDSA’s treasurer to all NPC members after the vote yesterday. Openly threatening a split with a detailed breakdown of how it would go, a breakdown that I have to assume wasn’t made immediately after the vote. Seems like this is their actual plan.
Whatever impact an AOC campaign has on DSA will happen independently of how the org deals with her. This is because she is an international celebrity and they are an organization only broadly associated with a concept of leftism that she defines.
Interesting that @unionGustavo decided to hide my comment where I explicitly call him out for lying about the convention-mandated poll that he is claiming the NPC is overturning. Brazen wrecking
