After reading Matt Shumer’s “Something Big is Coming” yesterday, which has hit 55M views, I started searching high and low for any and all counter arguments. Not because I believed he wasn’t being honest. Or revealing valid a tectonic shift coming. But because there is always two sides (minimum) to every story. Not sometimes. All times. Forming opinions based on one side is how you get lobotomies becoming accepted psychiatric practice for twenty years. So, is there any other viewpoint other than the end of the world as we know it where we’re all noodling at the local lake for our dinner? Perhaps. And, if so, this is the best I’ve seen. Take a deep breath. And read it. You’ll take a deep breath after reading it, too.

I'm supposed to be running a Marathon in 4 days for the dogs... 🥰 Had to bring Stormzy out for some motivation ✈️ Jet lag and fatigue has hit after round the world trip in 5 days 🐕 A tonne of worrying dog situations as always 🛏️ I went for a 30 minute nap at 2pm today and woke at 10pm with feverish dreams. If I had to run even 5km today it would be impossible. So tired and sore and no training in 2 days. Not hopeful it can be done but lets hope tomorrow is better.

Ok, so it took me a while to process this surprising and terrible @futureverse news. I didn't really want to talk about it or think about it, but here we are. This has been devastating to me, not only financially but also mentally. It has been the most expensive lesson of my life. No worries. I'm fine. Life goes on and I think that the best thing is just to move on and focus on new opportunities to make up for what we lost (I hope you guys are watching NFT Strategies). Many people bought in because of my strong belief in FV team and the project and its vision. I'm really sorry guys. We are all in this together. I still believe that they had good intentions, and I don't think that failure = rug. There have been many bad decisions and fuck ups on the way, for sure. I have been very vocal about it in the past. How did we get here with all their connections and collabs? Some of those were huge. I mean, they were building the Ready Player One metaverse with the RP1 creators! They acquired Candy Digital just a few weeks ago. This partnership would definitely bring them nice revenue. Why would they acquire such a huge company and go bankrupt a few weeks later without giving it a shot? This is weird. There was much more, you all know it. I have to wonder how the hell they spent all that money. They supported many teams who fucked up with them. Took the grants, didn't build anything and left. But there had to be some inability to manage finances as well. They should have focused on a few best ideas and not spread their attention across many things. Everything took so long, and they never finished anything properly because they were distracted. Endless pivots were so annoying. The best times were when they were building IP and content around their collections. Issuing hundreds of thousands of useless NFTs was a big mistake. Going full corporate and techy while they totally abandoned web3 ways and ethos was one of the worst things I had issues with. Transparency and comms were a big issue. Another one was abandoning the IP, content, and culture, which was the reason they had a community in the first place. They let the IP die and acknowledged it too late. Why the hell were they nonstop hyping and promising stuff they knew they wouldn't be able to deliver? Hyping up just an ideas was an ultimate fumble. They got very much feedback from the community, but they didn't listen until it was too late. The cherry on the top was fucking up with the community regarding $ROOT airdrop/rewards. So many bad decisions and changes of directions cost them the community, which was leaving fast after so many disappointments. And without community and culture. You have nothing... At the end, we put money on the table in a risky start-up, and it failed. Shit happens. Something like this happened to most of the start-ups in web3 but not on such a big scale. FV was massive. But it was also our own decision. Anyone of you could leave like many people did. There have been signs, and I'm guilty of being blind to them. But I have to say I'm sick of seeing people unable to move on, posting nonstop hateful content 24/7. That is not the way to deal with things. Just stop, and you will feel better. Believe me. Find something new that excites you and focus on positive things in your life. I support all those who are trying to pick up the pieces and try to save what is left. Supposedly, there are pieces that could be saved. Sending you all strength! If you are one of those you have my respect. Especially @shenxcrypto and his team. I found many online friends and smart people on this journey. My message to you all is: Take the lesson you learned and use it in the future. Just don't give up. Now is the time to lock in. It is important to survive, and opportunities will come your way. See you all in the next adventures.

Today, the Futureverse board made the difficult decision to begin a restructuring of the business. While we’ve made significant progress building world-leading AI models, developing more than 30 open-source protocols, and partnering with some of the world’s top brands, we recognize that adjustments are needed to ensure the long-term sustainability of our vision. This process will allow us to focus on strengthening the foundation of the company and reshaping the structure so we can continue to support our core products and applications. Importantly, this restructuring only impacts Futureverse Corporation and does not directly affect subsidiaries. Futureverse has always been rooted in collaboration and innovation, and our aim remains to carry this work forward in a stronger, more sustainable form.

Today I’ve decided with mixed feelings to sell my Flufworld NFT’s because of the receivership @Futureverse is in. A company who’s vision I believed fulheartedly in. It’s sad to see it didn’t work out wathever the reasons are.

@CryptoAunty @StaxKarrotGang @futureverse I’ll keep my fluf, thingie and seekers, for the memory of the joy we had in the beginning. They are on Eth, hope they’ll stay alive. The Partybear also is in pieces on the root network. Wonder if TRN will stay alive. I wish you all the best ❤️

Probably one of the hardest weeks of my life, with little warning we were informed that everything will change and either we step up or it’s all gone. Years of work and effort that we put into the ecosystem we genuinely believed in just become meaningless unless we take on the biggest undertaking we’ve ever done with only a very small amount of resources. I appreciate everything that FV has done and the support they did show us, but the fact that we’re in this situation after what the comms was like just a few months ago is insane. We lost out on a lot of what we were promised and through betting time/money on this eco, and now have to quickly figure out to have even come out of this ourselves. Honestly still processing the whole situation, I’m not sure what lies in the future. We’re going to continue to try our hardest (as we always have), but it’s definitely some of the toughest times we’ve ever faced as a team, and a time of deep reflection. I truly feel for everyone who is financially disadvantaged through this situation, we’re literally right there with you, and I hope we all have some good karma coming our way. And as I have repeated the whole time, this community is filled with incredible and bright minds, we could not be more appreciative for the support we’ve always been shown. Who knows what the future holds, but I hope to still see many of the amazing and passionate people that I’ve gotten to know through this journey right there with us, wherever that may be. 💜 I might be taking a bit of time away from socials over the coming week, to deeply reflect on the situation and best next steps for the remaining eco (both users and builders) and our own team at Gen3. Really appreciate everyone who has already reached out in support so far, I’ll be getting back to lots of the DMs later next week.

For the record I don’t have an official statement prepared regarding Futureverse or what’s next for FLUF World, but as I rapidly get some clarity on what I have to work with for the FLUF World community, I’ll prepare official comms and share them in an open fashion as we have started doing in our FLUF Forums over the last month or so. Still, I feel empowered and motivated to share some raw streams of consciousness. I am optimistic about the future of FLUF and am grateful to finally be in a position again where I can contribute to its success. I believe the best path forward is community-driven, IP centric, and not dulled down. I also think that the whole spirit of Web3 projects and blockchain principles lend themselves to a resilience that supersedes the need for a central organization to drive their success. The Web3 aspects of FLUF, TRN, etc. will flourish more when there is less direct management and control from a centralized entity. Still, there is a balance, as pure decentralization works best only when the right systems and processes are in place. I am working to determine the precise right structure that will drive FLUF IP and community to be more adaptive and dynamic to market conditions while maintaining a clear, cohesive identity. Some of that will be quite different from what has been tried before. But the core of that is an open dialogue and systems that bring community into design and execution. That gives us a powerful basis to deliver on, and also a narrative that will set us apart in this space. But the key to success as we’ve seen with other collections is to pierce the zeitgeist outside our bubble within a bubble to reach “the masses” — that didn’t have to mean partnerships with Walmart. It means finding the nodes that represent our community digitally and physically and energizing humans who feel a part of the same whole, with shared values and goals and interests and the audacity to go to bat for something they believe in. I believe in FLUF and I hope to turn some heads soon as we innovate in what we do and how we do things. If you’re upset, worried, anxious — of course you are. I don’t have all the answers and frankly I don’t think this whole solution design should rest in one person’s hands. I am ready and excited to take the lead in Making Flufs Great Again, but I’ll need your help to do so. So once again, reach out, share your opinions and views, and let me know where you want to drop in. But please know I have a strong vision and desire to make it happen; but it requires collaboration from us all. It’s time for a reset. The Fluffle deserve it, and I’m excited to see what the future holds.

Firstly I know you have been frustrated that I have not been able to communicate with you in the last few weeks. We have been going through a large number of discussions and options to get clarity and the situation has been evolving daily. The process we have been required me to keep the situation confidential and also I did not want to be in a position of communicating without absolute certainty due to the range of outcomes on the table. It would have been difficult not to express either too much hope to too much dismay or speak to the range of options without breaking that confidentiality. I also needed to focus all my energy on finding a way through this for all involved. I can truely say the founding team exhausted all options and worked literally day and night every day worked without pay and invested our own savings to find one that would avoid this. Futureverse took on an extremely ambitious plan to change the way content creation and distribution worked, pursuing multiple complex problems across multiple domains at the same time to build a seamless e2e experience that enabled users to onboard, create and then play. We built world-leading AI models in several areas, created more than 30 new open-source protocols, and developed new standards for interoperability in gaming. we launched 5 games and a game launcher including novel agentic and generative game play and delivered new immersive experiences for the world’s leading brands. In hindsight, that plan was too ambitious. While we achieved some incredible outcomes like breaking new ground across AI, gaming, and Web3 protocols, we ultimately have run out of options to become a long-term sustainable business with the structure as is. I know for many of you this has been a passion, just as it has been for me and our leadership team. Delays in partner launches, customer revenue and historical liabilities carried through from the various companies we have rolled up have all contributed to this outcome. Fund raising in a soft market for web3 metaverse and gaming, where many market leaders have recently restructured or wound down, and a backdrop of high global uncertainty in the macro environment has been difficult so we have been faced with an incredibly tough situation. Im devastated as I am sure many of you are here that it has come to this its been my mission to create the tools and opportunity for others to build a more open immersive Internet and while we have created dozens of innovative tools , models and protocols this is not what I envisioned our journey leading to. Ive poured my heart , energy , tears , savings and hopes into building Futureverse and I know many of you have also contributed in your own way to make this come to life too. The process we are in now does enable us to restructure and hopefully the vision can continue . There will be some pain in this process we are doing all we can to help ensure core services remain active and transition any dependences for web3 elements to more independent solutions. Much of the work we have done is building protocols that are open and built on web3 infrastructure TRN and many of the tools we have built are open source and we will release more projects shortly to enable anyone who wants to continue what we started to do so. The point of web3 is to be resilient to traditional company structures and while it happened quicker than I hoped at some point the ecosystem would need to survive without that structure in place We are working with TRN Labs to transition more functions to their care during this process to minimise disruption and maximise resilience long term including any treasury management functions until governance is completed. There will be many of you who are angry or hurt and I have no words that can possibly convey how sorry I am that we are here. All I can do is say I did everything possible to make this work I fell short but ill continue to fight to ensure the best possible future outcome for my team and the community. I know there will be many questions for the immediate time I am limited in what I can say and will be focusing my time on getting through this receivership process when we get the receivers plans finalised we will be able to share more. For those of you who still want to drive this forward TRN labs and others will provide a way to engage and share your thoughts and plans on how community driven elements of this can continue. The Root Network and its protocols are independent of this and all of the software and protocols are open source. We will continue to run FV nodes in this receivership process but ultimately the future of the network would always have been in the hands of the broader community so we encourage others to continue to build on the work we started. We started Futureverse saying that “we aren't building the future, you are.” With our protocols now fully developed, interoperability standards open sourced we now find ourselves at a point where that shared vision will be tested and, hopefully, strengthened.
