In 2021 I joined a Crypto Cult... I just wanted to be early in the next Doge I knew nothing about Cryptocurrency, blockchain, or decentralization. I had found a family of people I never met We all wanted to see each other succeed But a dark truth began to come to light We couldn't all succeed, the more I looked at the holders List the more I realized how unproportionally distributed the supply was. We acted like family, but in reality, we were all just wanting to sell, and in order to do that we not only had to sell before each other did, but we also needed a ton of people to join our "family" to provide that selling opportunity A cult mindset had been formed around a system that was designed to give all power to early buyers and use those late to the party as liquidity extraction But most people didn't see it, because we were all too deep in pushing the idea we were all going to be rich. After all hype and belief fueled speculation. It's true if everyone believes in something then it doesn't actually need any value to make a profit. Part of the cult was you weren't allowed to question the investment in a negative light, if you did you were attacked, slandered, and banned As time went on the team behind the Project slowly started to be exposed for stealing Liquidity from the Project. But the Cult mindset was too strong, people had too much to lose, too much money invested, too much time, and too much feeling validated by each other, and being honest about the team meant possibly losing everything we all believed in and hoped for. The team was eventually arrested and prosecuted and by the time the community realized the truth it was too late, the Liquidity was already gone. The problem I saw was that this wasn't an isolated event, every crypto followed a similar path no matter how big or small. Whether a team steals or doesn't steal the early Buyers gain power to extract and always do. Everyone wants to be those early buyers and be the one who dumps, and when people don't get to be the ones who dump the price, they blame the project as a scam whether it was or not. Crypto decentralized certain aspects of ownership, verification, and transactions, but supply and value distribution still left everyone wanting to be at the top of a bad system. I decided it was time to get out of Crypto, it felt like an extraction scheme that abused every narrative known to man, it divided people, hurt communities more than helped, and was a terrible tool for supporting ideas you believed in. Speculation was just too powerful, and everyone realized it. Everyone wants to be early, and nobody wants to be late. Everyone starts their own project, but nobody wants to buy others. The people most hurt were the most innocent, and the bad actors scammers, fake marketing kols, all played a massive role in the system. I then got brought onto a team by a friend who had seen my work and got to go these crypto events in person from New York to Austin to Tennessee. It was the same thing online just in person, everyone promoting and not really caring what others were doing. Then I began searching for a way to balance the main problem. Whales had too much power, too much incentive to dump, and later buyers got crumbs of supply and value potential. I began a long journey of testing a token that rewarded holding more than I have ever seen on the BNB Network. But we never stopped finding solutions. Ultimately the question came down to decentralizing Supply and Value distribution because that's where the centralization was happening as the root of all the other problems. And we created it, but people didn't care. Just like the cult movement people are so into what they are doing they don't care about the truth. But now we are finally about to bring all of our solutions to the public and people in DeFi will be able to balance the incentive to sell with the incentive to hold to whatever degree they want to. There are a great many of tools you can use to balance power and incentive, we just targeted the one area no one has, and it happens to be the area where the true problem lies. I don't know what will come of this whether people use it or not, it comes down to this one question. Do people want the system to be better for everyone, or to just be the ones who benefit off of a bad system? In time I believe our work and how people respond to it will start to answer that question.
