As we build Blokyz as a collectible and an IP, the distinction between design and story has been an interesting problem to ponder upon.
Do you need a story, or does design alone carry the weight?
Generally, collectibles, especially designer collectibles, don't necessarily need a story. Funko Pop or Bearbrick don't really have a story, there is a narrative but no story. Barbie for the longest time didn't have a story.
But they all have really strong designs, instantly identifiable. The original Blokyz silhouette, the androidish body, the trademark ear were designed to achieve this goal of long term instant identification and symbolism.
At the same time, to build value long term, you need a story and at the least you need a narrative.
Funko’s narrative could be, a system that allows you to collect all your fandoms in one place in one shape.
Bearbrick, I feel takes this and adds a layer of premiumness and exclusivity, ‘If your fandom is big enough, it may have a limited edition Bearbrick and if you are the biggest fan, you must have it’
Barbie and Lego have shown a third interesting path, especially Lego.
You could take a designer collectible, introduce interesting characters and then tell fresh and compelling stories to take the collectibles into a truly unique space.
With Blokyz, we feel we have a design that can over time develop a strong visual identity and let us produce a very wide range of characters. Objective with the lore is to give us creative freedom. To tell not one story. Any story.
So as the lore starts coming out, you will see each character and wonder what’s the story behind it. Sometimes you may wonder under what circumstances could these 2 characters ever come together.
And I believe this gives us incredible fuel for building fascinating stories

When i saw this artwork by @DKashtalyan for the 1st time on my TL i felt in love. i wasn't the 1st to follow but I was the 111th follower which is not bad ahah.
As a digital art collector who run a little group of collectors named @ThisIsArtBytes for 9 months now my priority has never been to try to get all the world's whitelists.
I curate every project to select only those that seem to have something extra that resonates with my tastes as a collector & those of my members with a focus on the art and the intrinsic quality of the work.
Tbh here with @thebeaksart i am shocked & i really hope that the artist and @ssheyii will will see my DM and consider it cause it's rare that I like an artwork this much.
thanks in advance and for those who don't know the artist, give a follow and support. Talent here !

A Strategic Guide to Rilatomaxx
Index:
1/ Base
2/ Depth of the Project
3/ Thesis & Strategies
—
1/ Base
I spent some time going through @0xRilato beyond the surface. Not the art or the rollout, but the structure underneath it. What stood out wasn’t what it shows you, but what it forces you to think about. It feels less like a product and more like a system you step into.
@0xRilato is trying to explore something uncomfortable. What if your inner state wasn’t just something you feel, but something you could interact with? Something you could own, change, and evolve through a system. That idea alone isn’t meant to be easy to accept, and that’s the point.
—
2/ Depth of the Project
The collection is built in layers: Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 psyche. But the real design is not the layers themselves, it’s the movement between them. The system only becomes interesting when you realize nothing is static. Everything depends on decisions.
The merge mechanic looks simple at first glance. Three Layer 1 become a Layer 2, and two Layer 2 become a Layer 3.
L1 + L1 + L1 → L2
L2 + L2 → L3
But simplicity here is deceptive. It hides a much more important constraint.
Merging is irreversible. Once you move up a layer, there is no going back. Layer 3 is final, and Layer 2 can never return to Layer 1. Every merge becomes a permanent decision, not just a mechanic.
This changes how you look at supply. The collection shrinking to a few hundred pieces isn’t enforced by the team. It happens only if holders choose to compress it. Supply here is not fixed, it’s shaped by behavior.
—
3/ Thesis & Strategies
Most people will approach this with a simple thesis. Layer 3 is the rarest right now, so it must be the most valuable. If the system rewards completion, holding Layer 3 feels like the obvious bet. It’s clean, intuitive, and easy to agree with.
But that thinking assumes the system behaves predictably. It assumes everyone moves in the same direction. And more importantly, it assumes rarity stays where it currently is.
In reality, rarity here is emergent. It depends entirely on how people act over time. If too many people chase Layer 3, other layers can quietly become scarcer.
This is where the second thesis starts to matter. Instead of chasing what is rare, you hold what can become rare. Instead of locking into an outcome, you preserve flexibility.
Layer 1 holds the most optionality in the system. It can become Layer 2 or Layer 3, or remain unchanged. That flexibility is not obvious, but it is powerful under uncertainty.
Most people optimize for outcome. They want to end up at the “top” layer. But fewer people think about preserving decision space.
Rilato doesn’t just reward what you hold. It quietly rewards how you think about holding it.
A masterpiece from @0xproportio.
