2027 Political Shifts: Jonathan's Potential Role in the Obi/Kwankwaso Ticket
Ahead of the 2027 Nigerian presidential election, speculation is growing around former President Goodluck Jonathan's potential backing of an Obi/Kwankwaso ticket.
## Strategic Alignment
The Ticket: The proposed pairing of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso aims to bridge the political divide between the South and the North.
Goodluck Jonathan’s Stance: As a respected elder statesman, Jonathan has held talks with South-East leaders and both politicians. His involvement could lend significant national unity support to the ticket.
Opposition Realignment: Following their exit from the ADC, both Obi and Kwankwaso have moved to the Nigeria Democratic Congress in a bid to form a stronger coalition against the incumbent administration.
My first political choice for Nigeria is a revolution, because that is the best solution to our collective problem.
I strongly believe Nigeria can never work with this political system because it is not compatible with our country.
This system depends on the goodwill of politicians to choose not to be corrupt to function. If they choose greed it collapses.
The system should be hard to game. But this system is easy to game. Running a Federal Republican System like an Oligarchy can never work it hinders the economic model, it doesn't allow the economic model to breathe.
Many Nigerians don't even know that Nigeria is a Mixed Economy on paper because the politics make it function as a Capitalist economy hence the economic problems.
But I know I can't change anything alone. More people want to vote so how I feel about things is irrelevant.
I have not decided yet if I will vote because it feels the vote is pointless if one man can game the system because the model is weak and exploitable.
If I ever decide to vote along the way, it definitely will not be Tinubu. I will waste my vote on Peter Obi hoping his failures help me trigger the revolution needed to reset this country to nothing so we can start over.
I don't need to belong to any stupid political party to vote. 🤝
This morning, in Lagos, I met with the U.S. Consul General, Mr Rick Swart, where we discussed strengthening the bilateral relationship. We focused on promoting credible elections in Nigeria, ensuring they are free from interference, and fostering a space where all political parties, especially opposition parties can thrive, and contribute.
We also discussed trade and business opportunities between our countries. Accompanying me to the meeting was Dr Adefolaseye Adebomi Adebayo.
The discussion was very productive, and we are hopeful that, moving forward, Nigeria’s elections will be even more credible and transparent. -PO
"The condition of our nation and the urgent need to rescue Nigeria, informed my decision to leave ADC for NDC."
Yesterday, I formally joined the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), alongside my dear brother, Engr. Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, with one clear purpose: to continue the struggle for a new Nigeria built on justice, competence, accountability, and compassion for the ordinary Nigerian.
As I stated yesterday, this decision was not made out of anger, personal ambition, or convenience. It came after deep reflection on the present condition of our nation and the urgent need to rescue Nigeria from the dangerous path it is currently heading.
Over the years, I have remained steadfast in my conviction that politics should never be about individuals, positions, or personal gain. It must be about the people, especially the millions of Nigerians who today can no longer afford necessities, whose businesses are collapsing, whose children are losing hope, and whose future is becoming increasingly uncertain.
I left the ADC for the same reason I left the Labour Party: the severe, orchestrated litigation and internal crises deliberately designed to ensure that I, alongside many other notable individuals, do not effectively participate in the electoral process. I sincerely appreciate and remain deeply grateful to the Leadership of ADC for the opportunity to work together in pursuit of a better Nigeria. I am particularly grateful to ADC Chairman Senator David Mark for his exceptional Leadership. I also deeply appreciate my Leader and elder brother YE, Atiku Abubakar, as well as other respected leaders within the party.
As we join the NDC, I sincerely appeal to the Nigerian Government against the encouragement of unresolved litigations and the infusion of crises within political parties. Democracy must never become a weapon against the people. A healthy democracy thrives on strong institutions, credible alternatives, and the freedom of citizens to make choices without intimidation, manipulation, or fear. Opposition parties must not be weakened or destroyed, because when democracy loses balance, the people ultimately suffer.
Nigeria today is passing through one of the most difficult periods in its history. Poverty is rising. Hunger is widespread. Insecurity continues to threaten lives and livelihoods. Businesses are shutting down daily. Our young people are becoming discouraged, and many citizens have lost faith in the system. At a time like this, leadership must be driven not by propaganda or division, but by competence, capacity, character, and compassion.
Our decision to join the NDC is therefore not an abandonment of values, but a continuation of the same mission we have always stood for: building a Nigeria where leadership is about service, where public resources are managed responsibly, where institutions function independently, and where every Nigerian, regardless of tribe, religion, region, or social status, can live with dignity, security, and hope.
I remain committed to working with all Nigerians of goodwill across political, ethnic, and religious lines. The task before us is bigger than any individual or political party. It is about the future of our children and the survival of our dear nation.
I thank Nigerians, especially our youths and women, for remaining peaceful, resilient, and hopeful despite the enormous challenges confronting the country. I urge you not to lose faith in Nigeria. Nations do not change because people surrender to hopelessness; they change because people continue to believe, continue to sacrifice, and continue to stand for what is right.
A new Nigeria is still POssible. -PO
Peter Obi served as Atiku’s running mate in 2019 and NEVER once demarketed him—even when running against him. He still holds him in high esteem. But look at Datti now, doing the exact opposite. We cannot build a new movement on a foundation of disloyalty and disrespect.
Are you Team Obi's decorum, or do you support Datti's approach? Let’s hear it! 🇳🇬👇"

The Unjust Persecution of Chidiebere Justice Mark
In a functioning democracy, holding public institutions accountable is not a crime. The recent arraignment and detention of Chidiebere Justice Mark (known online as @JusticeCrack) by the Federal High Court in Abuja highlights a deeply troubling reality regarding the suppression of free expression in Nigeria.
Under the guise of the Cybercrimes Act, state apparatuses are being used to silence a citizen who simply exposed the poor welfare and inadequate feeding of our security personnel. Highlighting these struggles should invite administrative reforms, not prosecution and detention.
The oppression extends beyond the charges to the handling of the case. By denying an oral application for bail and remanding him in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) until May 25, 2026, the court is keeping an innocent man in prolonged detention. This sends a dangerous message to all citizens that criticizing government institutions will cost them their liberty.
This prosecution violates the core tenets of Section 39 of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution, which guarantees the right to freedom of expression. Furthermore, using Section 24 of the Cybercrimes Act to criminalize online speech is a clear abuse of a law designed to fight cyber-terrorism and fraud.
Chidiebere Justice Mark has done nothing wrong; he is simply facing the weight of institutional oppression for acting as a voice for the voiceless. The demand for better treatment of our frontline personnel is a patriotic act, not a felony. As the case proceeds, civil society and the legal community must stand against this intimidation and demand his immediate release.
Peter Obi is the Real Deal: Why the New NDC Alignment Matters!
Nawa oh! It's crystal clear that the APC-led government has been working overtime to destabilize the opposition because they know exactly who the real deal is.
Since Peter Obi officially left the ADC to join the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) alongside Rabiu Kwankwaso, the ruling party has been scrambling to defend itself. But here is the truth: Peter Obi is not moving out of anger or personal ambition—he is moving to rescue Nigeria from a dangerous path.
Obi has consistently proven that leadership is about accountability, competence, and compassion for ordinary citizens who can no longer afford necessities. The repeated, orchestrated battles to derail his path only prove that the establishment fears his vision for a new Nigeria.
Let's not be dismayed by their political games. Obi remains the real deal, and this new alignment is about putting the people first! 🇳🇬💪.
