Petrol pump filling fuel into a 5000-litre water tanker like it’s normal.
Such tankers are meant for water, not fuel.
Licensed petroleum tankers require anti-static grounding, pressure vents, flame arrestors and compartment tanks.
Without these, static electricity or vapors can cause a fire or explosion.
Water residue or rust can also contaminate fuel and damage vehicle engines.
Under Petroleum Rules 2002, bulk transport must be done only through licensed petroleum tankers, not random containers.
At a time when the Essential Commodities Act is invoked and fuel supply is sensitive, such videos are widely spreading and raising serious questions.
Will @BPCLimited look into this? 🚨

@BJP4India Is this really needed here?
Instead of constant blame games, maybe learn from the policies and work done by Manmohan Singh.
Enough of this pointless posting.

Let’s revisit 2012.
The UPA government abruptly hiked petrol prices by ₹8 per litre in one stroke, one of the steepest increases India had seen at the time. When questioned about the burden on ordinary citizens, then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh famously remarked:
“𝐏𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐚 𝐩𝐞𝐝𝐨 𝐩𝐚𝐫 𝐭𝐨𝐡 𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐭𝐚 𝐧𝐚𝐡𝐢.”
(Money doesn’t grow on trees.)
The message was clear: global pressures meant the public simply had to absorb the shock.
Now fast forward to 2026. ⏩
Despite massive global disruptions — from pandemic recovery to geopolitical conflicts that have rattled energy markets — petrol prices in India have not seen a hike since a long time under the Modi government.
This period has included:
* the aftershocks of the global pandemic
* the Russia-Ukraine war
* Conflict in Middle East
Yet, India has managed to maintain price stability for consumers while navigating these external shocks.
What makes the debate even more striking today is that the same political voices that once justified steep fuel hikes are now positioning themselves as lecturers on fiscal discipline and energy management.
When governments speak about economic responsibility, citizens inevitably compare words, actions, and outcomes across time.

@raghav_chadha Sir There are bigger problems to talk about.
Recharge plans don’t claim “monthly” and then secretly give 28 days.
Everyone already knows this.
Stop manufacturing outrage.
English

The 28-Day “Monthly” Recharge SCAM.
I raised this in Parliament today.
Telecom companies call their plans “monthly” — but they last only 28 days.
That means prepaid users pay for 13 recharges in a year instead of 12.
28 days × 13 recharges = 364 days
If it’s monthly, it should follow the actual calendar month.
Consumers deserve better. Not these clever tricks.

I look forward to being in Keralam and Tamil Nadu tomorrow, 11th March to attend programmes in Ernakulam and Tiruchirappalli.
Upon reaching Keralam, the first programme is the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Akhila Kerala Dheevara Sabha. The work done by this body for fishermen welfare is noteworthy. After that, in a subsequent programme, various development works will be inaugurated or their foundation stones would be laid. These works pertain to sectors such as energy, highways, rural infrastructure, railways and more.
