Everyone is playing armchair psychologist about Conor's walkout and pointing out all the things that were different. I don't think it's any sort of conspiracy. To me, that's a guy who was questioning himself after such a long layoff against an incredibly tough Max Holloway. And yes, that's incredibly different from what we've come to expect from him, but he'd also never been through a five-year layoff before, at 37 years old, after multiple injuries. When Michael Jordan came back to play for the Wizards, he didn't make the playoffs. No one comes back after a layoff, pushing 40, and looks like their old self.

People keep judging Conor McGregor’s face. I don’t see someone who “aged badly.” I see a face that actually lived. Every wrinkle has a story. Every scar has a memory.
