MY DAILY LETTER - Here in the nation's capital: About 96 percent of people here in Washington DC believe that Donald Trump is a demented fool. Most people resent or hate him and never watch him. They can never ever subscribe to Truth Social. They see him as a deranged racist desecrating the White House. Trump himself believes that they are the fools, that he's a genius, the greatest man to have ever lived. It's that gap between reality and beliefs that makes it interesting. To understand the level of disgust and hatred many people have toward Trump here in DC, I was attacked at a bus stop for talking to someone on the phone who was wearing a Trump hat. I was not wearing the hat, I was not promoting Trump, I was just chatting with someone wearing a MAGA hat. I was at the hospital the other day and there were about 10 people talking, and I would say that I have never ever heard so much resentment toward any politician in the United States as I did that day. Most people here are liberals and Democrats, but even then, they disagree with many Republicans, just not to the extent that I heard that day. Remember, the hospital is where most people never talk about politics as they try to save everyone, regardless of who they support or voted for, but with Trump many see him as a wasted presidency. Politics under Trump has divided families and friends and divided America itself.
