Wow. Ryan Reynolds wrote this beautiful tribute to his friend Michael J. Fox and now I’m crying: “This man means a lot to me. And I know he means a lot to many of you… ⬇️ I know Michael J. Fox. Like, I know him pretty damn well. He’s funny. He’s warm. He’s handsome and intensely smart. He also falls a lot. Not just because he has Parkinson’s. He falls a lot because he’s unafraid to fly. I met Mike 17 years ago. I’ve watched him raise the bar for purpose and passion. It’d be kinda lazy to simply characterize him as the greatest champion of Parkinson’s research on the planet. He’s someone who helped my dad, along with millions of others, feel less alone. It’d be kinda lazy to simply regard him as a movie star who shaped the lives of people all over the planet with a uniquely electric wit and self-aware charm. He’s the sum of these beautiful parts. And so many more. Last year I watched Back to the Future with my 8-year-old daughter. It’s become her favourite film. And for now, that’s enough for me—and her. One more kid from one more generation sees what I saw. I know how lucky I am to call Mike a friend. She still has no idea that I know him. I don’t need to teach my daughter the level of compassion Mike has mastered. Or teach her to tell stories the way Mike tells stories. I need to teach her that it’s OK to fall a lot. It’s the absolute best way to know you’re flying.”

ECLIPSE PREVIEW - As you should know by now, the forecast isn't ideal locally for eclipse viewing... But what if it were? I spent way too much time assembling this virtual reality explainer of the sights, sounds, and quirks of a total eclipse. Take a gander: #atxwx #txwx

"My dad put up a basketball hoop for my two older brothers, and they never used it. I'm the one who wore it out." This is some of the most wholesome content you'll see this weekend. After breaking the scoring record, Caitlin was asked about what her 6 year old self would think of where she is now... Today I posed the same question to coach Bluder. As always, she gave incredibly thoughtful perspective about how far the game has come since her childhood in Marion.

🚨BREAKING: THE COUP IS OVER | WAGNER’S RETREATING This official statement from Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner group and the leader of this coup, says it all. I don't think anyone expected this: "They were going to dismantle PMC Wagner. We came out on 23 June to the March of Justice. In a day, we walked to nearly 200km away from Moscow. In this time, we did not spill a single drop of blood of our fighters. Now, the moment has come when blood may spill. That’s why, understanding the responsibility for spilling Russian blood on one of the sides, we are turning back our convoys and going back to field camps according to the plan." The President of Belarus, Lukashenko, has been in talks with Prigozhin all day and has taken credit for the peace agreement. Prigozhin accepted the terms of Lukashenko’s agreement and agreed to halt the movement of his forces and return back to his bases. The agreement also guarantees security for fighters of PMC Wagner. It seems that the attempted coup has come to an end, and Prigozhin, along with his men, will return to their bases. Reports of Wagner forces not only leaving Moscow Oblas, but also leaving Rostov. Russian media reports that criminal cases have already been dropped from Yevgeny Prigozhin and that Prigozhin and his forces will receive FULL IMMUNITY Restrictions on the movement of vehicles have been lifted from the Voronezh region which saw clashes earlier during the coup. MY THOUGHTS: - I did not expect this would end peacefully with a deal as it seemed both sides seemed at the point of no return - I have no idea how Prigozhin and Putin can both operate in Russia with what just transpired, and I also have no idea what will happen with the war in Ukraine but I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a space deal reached. - Today was another example of citizen journalism replacing mainstream media with UNBIASED and UNCENSORED live breaking news. - I am fried, been awake for more than 30 hours, initially doing a space with former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan before shifting to the Coup space which is at 21 hours and counting. Time for me to finally sleep!

🚨🚨🚨Holy shit: A father of a child who was killed in the Uvalde school shooting SLAMMED Texas legislators for their “useless thoughts and prayers.” Brett Cross boldly testified in front of a Texas House committee in support of legislation that would raise the minimum age to buy semi-automatic weapons from 18 to 21. Brett Cross: “I'm so sick of hearing those three words from our elected officials… While your prayers may have comforted you, they did nothing to absolve our pain... Your thoughts and prayers didn't stop an 18 year old from purchasing two high powered semi automatic rifles and all of those rounds of ammunition. Your thoughts and prayers didn't stop us from having to bury our children and two teachers. Your thoughts and prayers haven't done anything in the 329 days since Uziel was shot through his stomach exiting his spine. Your thoughts and prayers are useless unless you have thought and prayed for legislation that you can help enact that could change this.” Thank you so much to Brett Cross and these BRAVE parents for speaking out! 💙💙💙

Rep @JaredLPatterson says he's never read Lonesome Dove but says that if it includes things like sex with a prostitute, which it does, then it would be a "win" for Texas to have Lonesome Dove removed from libraries in Texas #TxLege

@ErinHogan “Coaching at the University of Texas comes with great responsibility that goes beyond just avoiding improper conduct”. UT’s letter to Beard I hope Beard gets a chance elsewhere and I’m sure he’ll do fantastic. But I’m glad Texas has high standards for our coaches on & off court

Let it play out to its conclusion- then make a decision That was not a very popular argument Today’s announcement does not prove innocence, but it opens the possibility of it I also know we’ll now hear Chris Beards side of the accusations levied against him in short order

Such a shame — When he was terminated I said I had good reason to believe this day would come Argued at that time that Texas should suspend him for the season pending the full investigation of what happened the night of 12/12 Facts not opinions
