The funny thing is that we just could have the real idea of the insane anticipation for #DunePartThree is because the #Melbourne IMAX theatre in #Australia actually showed the amount of people in their queue to access the ticket pre-sales: over 110.000 moviegoers joined the queue 😳 can you guys even grasp what it is to see over 100k people, in a single market, trying to get tickets for a movie, which is 8 months away? That’s the kind of thing you only see in major festivals, and even so not even in this level. Ig generating FOMO was one of the goals WB had with this strategy, they can consider it an outstanding success. Everytime a new round of pre-sales is announced, it’s gonna be insanity. And that sends a clear message not only to IMAX (“you did the right choice sticking with us”), but to exhibitors of other PLF formats, specially Dolby: the demand for PLF exhibitions of #DunePartThree is a sure thing, and the spillover from IMAX sold out screenings to other formats willing to absorb it is guaranteed, so they would do well sticking with #DunePartThree as well.
