My 11th year of teaching is in the books and next year a new chapter will open. This may be my last year of putting on ceremonies and being in the classroom, but I know it’s not my last year having a positive impact on our future generations. #resignedfromteaching

Be the teacher who takes their kids outside in the sun as often as possible and gives them extra recess or play time, just because.

So excited for our PD tomorrow on Block play @bankstreetedu Students had to work together to build a structure. It was amazing to see how well they were able to work together. @Gerald_Fitzhugh @Principal_MH

Instead of the 5 usual students who would immediately raise their hand I had half my class sitting there quietly with their finger on their nose. But more importantly two of my students who NEVER raised their hand all year did. I will certainly be reading, "Quiet Kids Count."

After listening to @TheConnectedEduon the podcast Quiet and Strong, I made a small but powerful change in my class. I asked a question, waited 30 seconds, and I told them instead of the traditional way of raising their hands to touch their nose Continue to comments.
