The United States and Israel are reportedly preparing to deploy nearly 12,000 elite troops into Iran in what many see as an extremely high risk mission. The operation is said to have financial backing from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait. A ground war against Iran is widely considered nearly impossible to win due to its military scale and strategic depth. Iran fields around 650,000 active soldiers, along with 250,000 paramilitary forces. Including allied and auxiliary units, their total manpower could approach 2 million. Any U.S.–Israel–GCC ground operation would face overwhelming challenges and slim chances of success. Many analysts view such a move as dangerously close to a suicidal mission.
