Setting up and managing roles, users, and permissions in Postgres might sound easy until you need to implement fine-grained access control for different users and groups of people, apps, or endpoints. pg_acm (Postgres Access Control Management) is a new set of tools that simplifies configuring and managing roles and privileges. The key feature of this framework is that each schema is created with a predefined set of roles and default privileges. This makes it easy to achieve full isolation between different projects sharing the same database and allows authorized users to manage access to their own data without superuser privileges.
