For the people planning to counter-demonstrate, I urge you to do so in a way that is peaceful and respectful to all in our community. The people in Southport have shown us how to respond to the far right, standing together, rejecting their attempts to divide us and unifying in the face of their hatred.

Osteoporosis affects 1 in 2 women over the age of 50. It is a really neglected disease and not spoken about enough. Throughout our lives, the inside of our bones are constantly being broken down and rebuilt by specialist bone cells (this is called bone remodelling) which is what keeps our bones strong. During the menopause, the drop in oestrogen causes this process to become out of balance and more bone is broken down than formed, which is what leads to bone loss and potentially osteoporosis. This is why HRT is so important. It’s not only about managing our menopause symptoms, it can also help us reduce our risk of osteoporosis because when we replace the oestrogen that is lost, this improves the natural bone remodelling process which will help to strengthen your bones and make fractures less likely. @Home_Ed_Mom @drlouisenewson I hear you! I used to take hrt. Sadly I had a breast cancer diagnosis too and had to stop. The whole menopause conversation constantly banging on about hrt causes 1 in 7 of that '53% of the population' very left out and with a sense of doom 😳

@drlouisenewson What if you're not allowed to take HRT? My GP won't prescribe it as I've had breast cancer. Is there anything else I can take?
