Understanding how the @BritishRedCross is providing vital humanitarian aid to those affected by the conflict in the Middle East. Staff and volunteers continue to work day and night to bring life-saving assistance and medical treatment to those who need it most.

In every emergency, winter brings even more difficulties. As temperatures continue to drop in Gaza, people lack blankets, warm clothes, access to food, clean drinking water, and proper sanitation. Over the last three months, civilians have borne the brunt of the hostilities.⬇

@BeeKemiA Not sure. Just thought it was an interesting (if sad) reflection on the focus being on style over substance for something so important

Really exciting opportunity to lead the Crisis Response team in the UK (and support emergencies overseas) - across our responses to fires, floods, terror attacks, power outages and so much more. Hugely impactful. Exciting times for the team too 😄: careers.redcross.org.uk/vacancies/9000…

I wonder... do digital & service design folks on my follower list have enough love for film - or the BFI (which is a charity) - to be up for guesting at a lunch & learn sometime in the next 12-24 months? (Civil servants: reminder you get paid volunteering days!)

Fantastic to see the bravery to trial new ways of working and having honest conversations about the need to listen to users and challenge assumptions! "Exposing the cracks in employee experience: building confidence in design thinking" by Sam Whitwham link.medium.com/cq8NVIluhCb

@HelenBevan Exactly. Invest in missionaries not mercenaries. Take the time to explain the why and vision…and ensure you have a meaningful one first that’s genuinely strategic not tactical

If people are motivated towards the change in a change process, everything else becomes easier. All the time & effort we invest early in that change process, engaging people, listening & co-producing, pays off later in better, more sustainable change. Trying to short-cut engagement means doing change "to" or "for" people & that's usually a bad move. Graphic: @anafabrega11

It's often lonely being a change agent. Communities of practice (CoPs) can give us a sense of belonging, support & courage. We don't need permission or formal power to create a CoP; just to connect with people who share our passion. Here's a straightforward guide to CoPs: management30.com/blog/community… Via @Management30 @FerraroRoberto

Narmada talks about what happens when a country rejects those who seek refuge - and shares a book she brought with her to the UK.
