Pope Leo XIV
Pope Leo XIV@Pontifex·
This is our God: Jesus, King of Peace, who rejects war, whom no one can use to justify war. He does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war, but rejects them, saying: “Even though you make many prayers, I will not listen: your hands are full of blood” (Is 1:15).

Was typing “Project Hail Mary” in a text and it autocorrected to “Project Bail Mary.” That’s…a completely different story.

@ericmetaxas @Franklin_Graham Sorry but can the President be really said to have faith or believe in God when he uses both as a weapon and hurts people? He would be the type of person Jonah would have been complaining to God about

Holy Week begins with President Trump sharing the Gospel. He posted the letter written to him by @Franklin_Graham declaring that Jesus is the only way to Heaven. We have never had a President so pro-faith.

@RpsAgainstTrump Except for the fact that the Pope has it right when he castigated people who use faith and god to wage wars. I think that is what Trump and by extension Hegseth miss when they talk about faith; they use it as a weapon to do things against others that they disagree with

Donald Trump shared a letter on Truth Social from Franklin Graham offering advice on getting into heaven. Dated October 15, 2025, the letter says: “If you accept that by faith and invite Him to come into your heart, you ARE heaven bound, I promise you.”

@SovEconomy @TheMaineWonk Except with healthcare it is not that simple. Creating competition with insurance companies does not drive down costs for healthcare services.

@TheMaineWonk The idea is to increase competition to decrease pricing. It’s pretty straightforward. The current system is full of corruption so having single payer systems doesn’t exactly work, as we’ve seen.

Remarkable if true...even moreso if the companies actually agree to cover the procedures.
HHS Rapid Response@HHSResponse

.@SecKennedy: “We’ve gotten 80% of the insurance companies now agree to get rid of prior authorization in almost all of their procedures…Now you will know at the point of care — before you leave that doctor’s office — whether or not the procedure is authorized.”

Hi Brendan, thanks for responding. My invite to you to do an interview still stands. Much to discuss. A lot of your post refers to generic ‘Democrats in Congress’ calling for things. Can you point me specifically to where Biden’s FCC chair went after and targeted Fox by name? Can you point me to where Biden’s FCC chair appeared at a left wing conference to publicly brag about getting Fox hosts fired from their jobs? And if, I accepted for argument’s sake, that Biden’s FCC chair did things that were bad or partisan, that you think were bad and partisan, then why… are you doing the same?

Biden’s FCC did go after Fox. Biden’s FCC went after Sinclair broadcasting too. In fact, the Biden FCC failed to renew hundreds of routine licenses for that broadcaster — something that the agency had never done before. The Biden FCC also determined and wrote that broadcasters have a “obligation … to take all reasonable measures to eliminate any false, misleading, or deceptive matter.” At the same time, Democrats in Congress pressured cable companies to drop Fox News, OAN, and Newsmax for their newsroom decisions. And that pressure worked in many cases. Those were cable channels, too, that have no broadcast public interest obligations. Earlier, Democrats in Congress wrote the FCC and called on it to investigate the news activities of a conservative broadcaster, including under the FCC’s news distortion policy. Democrats also called on the FCC to block the sale of a radio station in Florida on the grounds that they thought the buyer was conservative, stating “To win in 2022, this must stop!” The sale didn’t go through. The list goes on and on and I have no doubt that it will go on and on again at some point in the future. Remind me - which one of these Democrat actions did you consider weaponization and push back on ?

@RpsAgainstTrump @svdate The thing Carr doesn’t understand is under a Democrat administration that FCC could go after the media companies that he has helped prop up, Nexstar & Sinclair. Everyone will know whose fault it is and even his friends in the industry will shun him

Not sure I've seen a Party botch a shutdown quite like the R's here. D's not only escaped the public's wrath, due to R obsession w'SAVE Act and Trump focused on Iran, but, now, R dysfunction, unable to agree internally, gives D's more macro mo, when public already with them.
