Happy #MalthouseMonday y'all! This one goes out to @TexMalt. The #Texas market has experienced radical growth in both brewing and distilling over the past 10 years and this malthouse is here for it. Find them at texmalt.com.

@EddMather Ooo! I'd be curious to see that! Pre-war Oneobier? That's something you don't come across every day.

@CurmudgeonAle I've got a pre Great War Canadian recipe if that's of any help🤔; It's from one of the Oland owned breweries on Nova Scotia . I'll have to find my notebook on that brewery though 🤣🍻

Spent the weekend researching Grape Ales/Italian Grape Ales.... and not finding a ton of information. Seems like the style is still evolving and somewhat arbitrary at this point. Even in the GBH podcast, the director of a commercial brewery competition in Italy admits as much.

This is a style I'd like to play around with, but will probably stray well outside the BJCP style. Malbec Stout? Cabernet Quad? We'll see what grapes I can get my hands on this summer! Anyone have a good resource or recipe for IGA to share? Any advice from attempts to make it?

want anyone outside of Italy calling it simply 'Grape Ale' relegating 'Italian Grape Ale' to a local only role. The Italians are campaigning (and have a petition up) to have it all be IGA, in much the same way we have Belgian Golden Strong, Irish Stout, American Pale Ale, etc.

@bruuskas_brews So far Mastodon seems more thinly populated, and a bit more difficult to find new people. We'll see if that changes as I use it a bit more.

@CurmudgeonAle Let me know how mastodon is, I’m already in threads and it’s not too bad

Honestly, X/Twitter claims to be all about free speech, but there seems to be an agenda on what gets taken down, and what is promoted. It’s more about censorship. Maybe we should leave?

Very happy with how this Peach Table Beer turned our. Inspired by Jester King's La Petit Prince, but includes Rye and American Hops to go with the Texas Peaches from last summer. Bright, fruity and less than 3% abv, it's a great session beer for spring. #mixedculturefermentation

@agoodbeerblog GoiNG in directions I don't want to drink. I didn't participate in rhe IBU wars or the Acid/Sour wars, and I have no interest in how many styles you can make taste like candy with Lactose. I brew most of what I drink because I either cannot find it, or cannot afford it when I do

Brisk finish has herbal & pear flavors w/ an apple cider undertone. Some acetic acid, but not too high. Good layers of fruit & spice though may be a little too acid-forward for my tastes. We’ll see how this one ages. #diybeer #mixedculture

Sour2th Panther w/ foraged pears. 6.6% abv, ~3.2 IBUs. Wet stone, moss, yeast, pear & cut straw aromas. Has some ginger and vanilla behind. Starts with a bold acidity followed by ginger & lemon custard flavors. Middle gives moss, lime juice and moderate funk.
