This is so adorable. I thought the Japanese Prime Minister would bow. Instead she ran for a hug from the president,

G+G headline claiming Superman lost 8 million… The truth: Box Office Mojo had an error this week that unexpectedly boosted the Superman total box office around 8 million, then it expectedly corrected the error, putting it right about where it was. Reminder: Jeremy loved The Last Jedi until he found out which way the money was flowing. Superman is fine.

I wouldn't bother looking up anything for you after that glib dismissal of #1. Candace has been throwing around heinous, ridiculous stuff and it shows an absolute absence of journalistic ethics to not have pushed back on it. It warrants lot more. So since you're dodging that as if the request for condemnation comes in a vacuum free of her allegations, Erika being involved in her husband's assassination among the tamest allegations, you've made your own lack of sound judgement clear. Adios goofball.

1) She isn’t going to condemn on command, ethical. 2) You completely made that up or are just repeating what you hear as she has never made this about Jews. 3) In her practice of journalism, she learned about the insanity of the trans-ideology and understood it for what it is. That was a truly wonderful thing to watch, as she learned more and more, and very ethical/honest. 4) Many people were not fans of Trump before he proved himself during his first term. Me included. Same as #3, she changed her mind with more information. I hope we are all seeking better evidence, the truth, to make judgments. Do you have better evidence?

Welp ... @megynkelly and I followed one another for years because I thought she was dynamite, and for whatever reason, she thought my content was something worth reading. That changed when I asked her what was going on, why she had switched gears, especially with Israel. I even joked to keep it light, asking her to blink twice if she needed help. She unfollowed me. lol I, on the other hand, had not unfollowed her because, deep down, as a 'fan' (let's face it, I was a fan), I kept waiting for her to have an epiphany, to remember who she really was and what she really stood for. Shame on me, I guess.

A tentpole movie that needs all the ancillary products and merch deals to cut a good profit is not really a tentpole film. Those are not baked into the equation of profitability currently or they would not have been projecting such a big difference in its performance. I'm not against it. All I aim to do is reflect reality versus your previous crowing about how 'successful' it was every time it came up. It wasn't very successful at all. It may well lead to a continued series of films that get more successful, it may peter out. I didn't think it was bad and I didn't think it was great. It's almost a movie I could show my kids but unfortunately the execution scene is sort of disqualifying until they're much older. I hope they make more and better movies. I hope Lanterns is good, too, but as it is now Superman is a middling comic book movie both in its execution and its box office.

Do you think WB execs were going to kill a franchise because Superman didn’t make a billion dollars? Are you even considering digital, DVD, merch sales? They are. Comic book films power industries. Assuming you are a comic fan that wants these movies to succeed: Right now, things are okay. Superman did okay, it didn’t win the Super Bowl—yet—but it won the game.
CurmudgeonRPG@CurmudgeonRPG

@JonMalin Sure, in your example, what's ~$400 million dollars to a big company anyway? I'm sure it's no big deal. LOL

@AvataroftheSith @JonMalin It's not accounting to testify under oath you purposefully pulled a movie from theaters early because it was underperforming. Try again, bubba.

Underperformed = hoped for a billion, didn’t make a billion. Sequel coming in ‘27. 🤷‍♂️

@JonMalin WB literally testified under oath that it underperformed and was pulled from theaters early as a result of it.

@duffdog75 @PacketTrace @PolitiBunny @megynkelly That she chose to stand UP for the person spreading lies about a widow and a man who was assassinated, and then turned into someone worried about ze jooooos in a matter of weeks. She was also pro-trans before she was against it, just like she was anti-Trump before she flipped.

@EthanVanSciver Star Trek 2009 is good, but the second, Into Darkness, is a complete dumpster fire. You having no investment in the franchise probably helped but I bet if you watched it again you wouldn't be able to miss a lot of the problems. The third is decent, like a standalone episode.

Well, WATCHMEN itself was woke garbage (IMO. I hated the comic.) I didn't watch the show because I hate WATCHMEN. I'll admit, I'm not a STAR TREK fan at all, and yet the first two Star Trek prequels were great and very entertaining to me. LOST is an absolute touchstone. It obsessed America for seven years. I'm not here to say the guy isn't woke. I'm sure he is. I don't know if he's able to do justice to GL the way everyone wants. But I am saying that lynching the guy over a misunderstanding at the outset only makes the fandom seem irrational, not him. So far I like what I'm seeing because I sense a huge story underneath the teaser trailer. I do think it's funny that a town filled with white people is supposed to be Pure Horror when conveyed by elite Hollywood leftists. They should visit Camden New Jersey.
Comic Book Bob@ComicBookBob1

He doesn't have a great track record when it comes to comics or major franchises. His Watchman show was woke garbage and he and JJ Abrahms/Alex Kurtman have done near irreprable damage to Star Trek. I have no confidence in Hollywood or their darlings. I'd love to be wrong. I don't root for projects to fail.

To fix D&D’s direction, Wizards needs to refocus on solid rules and the classic content fans loved for decades. Skip the filler books packed with instant level-ups or XP from random hobbies. 5e breaks down after level 10, and the team has known it for years. Drop the social agendas. Bring back alignment, evil monster races, brutal combat, and complete adventure kits. Players want real villains who do terrible things, not padded safety features at every table. Nearly every 5e campaign book leaves massive gaps that force DMs to fill in the story, plus endless optional routes nobody actually uses on repeat playthroughs. Combat is wildly unbalanced and PCs are absurdly strong. Cut the bloated options and polish what’s left. None of it will matter, though, if the company keeps rewriting settings through heavy-handed modern politics.
