Black women undergo more abortions than any other racial or ethnic group in the U.S. It's true: in the U.S., the abortion rate among Black women, who make up roughly 7% of the total population (about 14% of 50% of women), is significantly higher than that of their white counterparts. According to the CDC, in 2021, the abortion rate among Black women was 28.6 per 1,000 women ages 15-44, compared to 6.4 per 1,000 for non-Hispanic white women. This disparity has persisted for decades: Black women accounted for 38.4% of abortions in 2019, despite representing a smaller share of the population. Add to that the fact that sex workers perform the majority of abortions, and it's easy to imagine that more Black women solicit money in exchange for sex than any other demographic group. If we criminalized sex work and abortion, the Black population would be among the majority, but considering the crime rate and mass incarceration are also high, for this to happen, serious intervention would be required. You see, you're fighting the wrong battle. You're too busy worrying about YT, who has only tried to help you, when your biggest enemy is Black people—like hip-hop artists, for example—who love to party and bullshit, which also harms Black people. Your community, unconsciously, refuses to fight for the solution to its problems. Who's your favorite rapper, Killacam, Ghostface Killah?
