Thank you, @GwenWalz, for sharing your story—it is a powerfully important way to clarify the stakes of this fight. Republican extremists are coming for reproductive freedom across the country. We must stop them at the ballot box this November.
Gwen Walz@GwenWalz

It’s never easy to tell my fertility journey, but the stakes are too high. This election, we have the chance to protect our reproductive freedoms by electing @KamalaHarris and @Tim_Walz. womenshealthmag.com/health/a625786…

Latorya, Kendall, Elizabeth, Julie, and Eli are all women I met with when I visited Alabama this week. Their stories are powerful and heart-wrenching – emblematic of the chaos caused in the state by the IVF ruling that Dobbs has cleared the way for. womenshealthmag.com/life/a60029416…

Kind of totally wild this is STILL such an issue after we reported on this in 2021/2022. Great reporting work by @AlexPutterman
Dan Brechlin@danbrechlin

Numerous complaints against a camp in CT were substantiated last year and the camp closed voluntarily. But the camp, like many others across the state, faced no discipline and reopened this summer. via @AlexPutterman #photo-24145758" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">ctinsider.com/news/article/c…

Did you know that Barbie creator Ruth Handler created some of the very first lifelike prosthetic breasts for women who'd had mastectomies? I didn't!! This piece explores the history behind Handler's own cancer diagnosis, mastectomy, and continued advocacy. womenshealthmag.com/health/a445687…

Driven by her own frustration at the lack of options (which included a sock stuffed in a bra!), Handler's product changed the breast cancer world. She was the 1st to make children’s dolls have an adult figure, but she also helped survivors reconnect with their bodies again.

Hearst Magazines Media Union@HearstUnion

This morning, we were notified that Hearst Magazines has laid off 41 of our unit members. Due to “company restructuring,” we are losing talented people whose creativity and institutional knowledge is immeasurable. (1/5)

~75% of college students said repro health laws in their college’s state are at least somewhat important in the decision to stay enrolled, and 60% of people without a degree yet say the laws are at least somewhat important in where they go, according to a 2023 Gallup Poll.

SCOTUS overturning Roe v. Wade last year caused serious ripple effects. For @WomensHealthMag I wrote about how, for the 1st time in 2 generations, young women have to decide where to go to college in a world where their repro rights are not guaranteed. womenshealthmag.com/life/a44202684…

For this piece, I talked to 3 young women from different backgrounds who are considering their college choices, to experts, college admissions officers, and activists to understand how Roe’s overturning has changed the higher education application process.

I wrote this essay for our Music-themed print edition (on stands now!)— there’s a fascinating and deep psychological connection between our music (i.e. voices) & brain. I learned how essential it was when I lost my voice. And that’s why I started writing in the first place.
Women's Health@WomensHealthMag

When a voice disorder meant that associate news editor Currie Engel was unable to sing or talk properly, she realized just how much her own “music” was connected to who she was. trib.al/61ZSqKc
