@CursebreakRpg

A pen&paper RPG in progress and the work of me and me alone thus far. Think fairies in headlocks.

I only just found out about the potion miscibility table on DMG pg140 and now I'm in love.

Is "You should play Pathfinder!" the "Why don't you just use Linux?" of the #ttrpg world?

What game systems provide rules for PC cowardice? I want to steal them.

@trinitykstudio @DnDClericHorgar Yea this is a really good point. I'm drawn toward thinking that one on one situations are such a relative rarity in the standard rp set up that it's the DM's job to spice that up, not the rules.

@CursebreakRpg @DnDClericHorgar That is a hard one - I don't think that players of certain games are ready for a non-abstract combat system where actual character death and lingering injury could be a thing. Also, it's mad boring for the other players in the group while the GM spotlights a single fight?

Playtest last night led to a question. Should a #ttrpg combat system designed for a group be expected to provide exciting one on one combats?

@robdlgardner I'm gonna give a crap answer and say 'the minimum amount of fidelity in order to be believable'. So probably more toward the relative strengths and weaknesses. The fight, given that we're fumbling through rules took about 20 minutes, which felt like 10 too long!

@CursebreakRpg @technolich Another blank statement that I don't agree with... mechanically it's just percentile + black jack, it doesn't use grid, most rules are simple to grasp and there aren't that many of them. Main complexity comes from the depth of stories it's able to tell, but 2e does have 4 mains.

To my horror TTRPG fans, what is your favorite system? And what about it to you love?

@dnd_n_anth I ran a game that was, completely unbeknown to the players, a 100% rip off of season 1 of '24'. Everything was swapped out with D&D 'stuff'. Worked a treat. And ended in a glorious TPK.

Out of curiosity, what is the biggest thematic crossover you done with #DnD? How’d it go? Cosmic horror? Mech battles? Sci-if?

@MatthewCmiel As in not adventures, monsters, treasure, settings, stories yadda yadda. The 'how the game works' stuff.

@MyNameIsGadda Yes I'm basically trying to re-write D&D but kid myself that that's not what I'm doing.

@Washburn_IL Ah this is amazing! Though as it is I only just joined ANOTHER discord channel that I'm not quite engaging with as much as I should be.... ...maybe it's too big. I'll see how I fair and maybe mooch over soon. Huge thanks!
