I attended the public presentation of the book “My Life and Journalists Hangout” and the 60th birthday celebration of Babajide Kolade-Otitoju, Director of News at Television Continental (TVC), in Abuja. It was a moment to celebrate a distinguished career in journalism and his contributions to advancing the profession in Nigeria. I congratulate him on this milestone and wish him many more years of impact and professional excellence.

@inecnigeria My appeal to INEC:- 1. Transmit election results electronically real-time from the polling booths. 2. Conduct all elections in one (1) day to save costs and preserve the integrity of the process. Otherwise INEC is not working for good of Nigerians

INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION PRESS STATEMENT RE: REVISED TIMETABLE AND SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES FOR 2027 GENERAL ELECTION At the meeting of the Commission with the Political Parties on Tuesday, 24th March 2026, concerns were raised on the timeline for the submission of Political Parties’ Registers of Members under the Revised Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the 2027 General Election, which was originally fixed for 1st April 2026 to 21st April 2026. The Commission, at the said meeting, agreed to adjust the period for the submission of the Political Parties’ Registers of Members to align the 21 days prescribed by Section 77(4) of the Electoral Act, 2026, with the actual dates fixed by political parties themselves. Political parties are accordingly informed that they are free to fix the dates of their primaries within the approved period from the 23rd of April 2026 to the 30th of May 2026. It is imperative that parties adhere to this timeline to ensure a smooth electoral process. The register of party members must be submitted to INEC not later than 21 days before the holding of their respective primaries. This means that the final deadline for the submission of political parties’ registers of members is extended to 10th May 2026, from the 21st April 2026 originally contained in the revised Timetable. Mohammed Kudu Haruna, National Commissioner and Chairman,Information and Voter Education Committee. Friday, 27th March, 2026.

We can all agree that because of the actions of Tracy Ohiri, some people will struggle in the future to get the kind of solidarity and support she enjoyed. Tomorrow when another person comes out with a similar case, those who should help may be hesitant.

I returned from the United Kingdom, where I accompanied His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on a State visit. In the course of the visit, I had the opportunity to engage with investors, particularly in the power sector, as we continue to position Akwa Ibom State for greater economic growth. Our administration remains committed to strengthening the power sector and advancing the Ibom Deep Seaport project. These are critical investments that will unlock new opportunities and drive long-term development in our State. While these projects take time and careful processes, we are making steady progress and recording strong investor interest. By the grace of God, we will achieve these goals. We will continue to work diligently to improve power supply and realize the Ibom Deep Seaport for the benefit of our people.

Today, I inspected the 33.5km Elele-Omudioga-Egbeda-Ubimini-Ikiri-Omoku dual carriage way. Considering the attention given to the project, I am impressed with the amount of work done as over 90% of the job has been completed. With what we saw today, we are happy with the contractor's work progress and the assurances that the entire job will be delivered on or before the end of April. The road project is very significant as one of our signature projects especially as it connects three critical local government areas of Ikwerre, Emohua and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni with emphasis on linking Omoku as a major gas hub in our State. The delivery of the road will further improve economic activity and the security of lives and property of our people along that axis.

I joined family, friends and members of Victory Chapel, University of Uyo Township Campus, for the dedication of baby Blossom Morgan Ekanem, daughter of my Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties, Barr. Morgan Ekanem. It was a joyful moment to thank God for the gift of a child and to celebrate with a man who has shown diligence and commitment in his service. I encouraged young people to remain diligent and faithful in whatever they do, because excellence, hard work and God’s grace will always open doors. I congratulate Barr. Morgan Ekanem and his wife on the dedication of their daughter and pray that God will continue to bless their family and guide the life of baby Blossom.

I inspected the ongoing work at the Agric Equipment Leasing Company located at Ekpri Nsukara in Uyo, a key project aimed at boosting mechanised farming across Akwa Ibom State. The facility will soon be commissioned and is designed to provide tractors and other modern farming equipment to farmers at subsidized rates to improve productivity and support large-scale agriculture. With over 25 tractors already in place, our goal is to make farming more efficient, increase food production, and improve the earnings of our farmers. As the rainy season approaches, we are also set to commence our tree-crop revolution programme, with palm seedlings ready for distribution to farmers across the State. Agriculture remains a critical pillar of our ARISE Agenda.

PRESS STATEMENT In the last 24 hours, social media has exploded over my interview with Mehdi Hassan, albeit with varied opinions. Let me set the record straight. When I signed on to the privileged job granted to me by Mr. President, I was well aware of its implications. Selling ice cream, looking fine, and seeking the praises of men were never part of it. Some of the fiercest critics of my interview can not even stand local TV anchors. But the task of promoting and defending the President and his administration is what I do with ease and joy. I am prepared to appear before any interviewer, anywhere in the world, any day and at any time, to defend this government and its policies. I have never, and will never, subscribe to ducking or dodging interviews on matters that concern promoting and defending the administration I was appointed to serve. It is the least of what is required of me. Head to Head contacted me requesting an interview, stating that they wanted to challenge our government on security, the economy, and corruption. Nowhere in our almost six months of communication did they mention that they were going to challenge my past. If that had been their plan, ethically and professionally, they were supposed to inform me so I could prepare my response. But that’s okay, ethically, that is on them, not on me. I refused to swallow the pill of Mehdi’s “opposition research-style journalism,” and even today, if you carefully compare what he read as quotes from organisations and groups, you will see that many were inaccurate and some were outright fake news. But I will leave that for another day. As for what I said about President Tinubu in the past, I am glad those were things I said when I was in the opposition saddle with such zeal. It is all politics. Half of Donald Trump’s cabinet is made up of people who once spoke against him, and quite a number of people in our own cabinet also spoke against President Tinubu in the past. Those things do not bother him if you care to know. The majority of the naysayers are members of the opposition and their sympathisers. It does not bother me one bit. Their temporary excitement over the interview has not lasted and will not last, because it does not take away their obvious problem of lack of vision, mission in conducting and managing a political party; yet they seek to manage Nigeria. Clearly they have no path to victory and no alternative policies or program for the Nigerian people. And if they say they do, they can as well go to head to head and be interrogated on that; as the saying in Hausa goes “Ga fili Ga doki” I conclude by thanking the many Nigerians and non-Nigerians who sent in their commendations over my brave defence of our government in an interview where the anchor would hardly let you answer a question unless it suited his narrative. I still have admiration and respect for Mehdi Hassan as arguably the best debater on the planet. I look forward to part two of the Head to Head interview, and I am glad that by then questions about my past will no longer be news so that we can focus on our administration’s policies, programs and what we have achieved so far. Stay tuned. – D.H Bwala Special Adviser to President on Media and Policy Communication (State House) Saturday March 7, 2026

I joined thousands of women across Akwa Ibom State at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium to commemorate the 2026 International Women’s Day, with the Wife of the President, Distinguished Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, as Special Guest. I appreciate the First Lady for her kind words and encouragement, and for acknowledging the progress we are making in promoting women's development and inclusive governance. I also reassured our people that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to the Ibom Deep Seaport and the ongoing Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, both of which will unlock new economic opportunities for our State. The event also featured the endorsement of President Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and my humble self for the 2027 elections by the women of Akwa Ibom State. I congratulate Akwa Ibom women on the successful celebration and thank them for their continued support and commitment to the progress of our State.

I joined the women of Nsit Ubium Local Government Area at the grand finale of the women sensitization tour on civic responsibilities and encouraged them to take full advantage of the cooperative initiative introduced by our administration. To strengthen economic empowerment, the State Government will inject ₦20 million into cooperative societies in each of the 369 wards of the State. I urge our women to actively participate, as all empowerment programmes will now be coordinated through cooperatives for greater impact. I appreciate the Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi; my daughter and Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Obareki; the Commissioner for Women Affairs; the Special Adviser, Bureau of Cooperatives; and all women leaders for taking the message of peace, unity, and civic responsibility to women across the State, and for their continued support for the ARISE Agenda.

@Austeiin @officialABAT @asovilladigital @SenRemiTinubu Are you aware that there is Nigerian English? "Tribute" in Nigeria is used for a dead person. That is our English. Why should Tinubu say that Daddy GO is "dead" on his 84th birthday. Please don't justify and don't support a grievous error like this one.

Nigerians, abeg nawwww 🙏🏾 I know many of us are not happy with the President and his team because of the current situation in the country; especially the kidnappings and killings. Even me, I share the frustration. But let’s not discredit the communication team or misinterpret the birthday message sent to the General Overseer of RCCG on his 84th birthday. The word “Tribute” was used correctly. A tribute is used to honor, appreciate, and show deep respect for someone’s life, impact, and legacy. It is a word of recognition and reverence. It is not only used when someone dies. It can also be used to celebrate people who are alive, especially when they have made significant impact. Yes, tributes are also given after death, but the word itself is not an announcement of death. It is simply a way of honoring someone, whether alive or late. Abeg, make we try understand the meaning of words before jumping to conclusions. Some of the reactions I saw were based on wrong assumptions, and we can do better. Let’s correct with knowledge, not noise. #DaddyDabzSaySo ✍🏾

TRIBUTE TO PASTOR ENOCH ADEBOYE ON HIS 84TH BIRTHDAY Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), is one of our nation's greatest gifts: a spiritual fortress, interceding for Nigeria and its people to God Almighty. His humility is genuine, and his wisdom runs deep beyond the ordinary. His contributions to our nation extend beyond the pulpit—where he ministers to souls—to philanthropy, healthcare, education, and economic empowerment. We celebrate the grace of stewardship and leadership upon the life of Pastor Adeboye, fondly called Daddy G.O., as he marks his 84th birthday on March 2, 2026. We congratulate him and join his wife, Pastor Foluke, members of the RCCG, and the Body of Christ in gratitude to God for the General Overseer’s exceptional life of impact that transcends cultures and borders. We thank the Lord’s own servant for his unceasing prayers for our nation and commend his patriotic zeal, manifest determination and commitment to Nigeria's progress. We also acknowledge the unique leadership role of the renowned clergyman, whose teachings over the past five decades continue to shape and transform lives across generations in the country and beyond. As Daddy G.O. celebrates this special day, we pray that God Almighty continue to bless him with good health and strength as he continues his good work in the Lord's vineyard. Yesterday, I joined family, friends, and the body of Christ at Ikot Ubo, Nsit Ubium, to honour the life of Rev. (Dr.) Emmanuel Ossom was a true servant of God whose life was worthy of emulation. Rev. Ossom personally baptised me in December 1974 at the Qua Iboe Church in Surulere, Lagos, and signed my baptismal certificate. That memory remains deeply personal and unforgettable. On behalf of the Government and people of Akwa Ibom State, I extend heartfelt condolences to his family. He was a pillar in the Christian Leadership Advisory Council and a father in faith to many.
