@waitrose @Nice_GuyEddie So why pay security to deter shoplifters but don't stop them from stealing your profits? That's like paying a taxi driver to sit in his cab and not take you to your destination 😞

@waitrose I won’t be shopping with you again! You sack an employee of 17 years for challenging a shoplifter! Why should I queue up and pay in your store when you’ve scaled back security and shoplifters are going unchallenged? Booths for me from now on!

@waitrose @AndyBurnhamGM I feel ashamed now of having bought anything from Waitrose before. I will never put a foot in a Waitrose ever again. Evil management.

@Bilcro @waitrose @CorkBeer @BrianVolkert @BertSmedley @BADONICUS @PaulOBrien10 @Imagicranium @j_k357 @kittyhen @keefmullin @whiskytip @LowWhines Couldn't resist! I miss my 4 greyhounds and @LowWhines posted the spaniel version. Think I have one here but will look next time I go to Waitrose, just in case. Sussex stout might be enjoyed later if I can find where I put it - Burning Sky one but not their latest release

@MarkSeddon1962 @waitrose They also need a word about all the food 'waste' they put in bins regularly ..rarely out of date. Shocking.

@Yorkshirefoxy1 @MarkSeddon1962 @waitrose Whilst that's definitely true, firing this man for his actions is appalling. I shan't lie & say I'm going to boycott Waitrose but I certainly won't be doing my next lot of groceries there. I hope they do the correct thing. Apologise and reinstate him.

@meolscop1978 @MarkSeddon1962 @waitrose It probably depends on the company policy sadly. It may have a strict no physical intervention policy and there are several good reasons as to why this is the case. To be clear I dont agree with the sacking but they are within their rights

@MarkSeddon1962 @waitrose When I started workong for the Co-op Food in 1977 one of the first things the area manager told me, “If someone comes to rob you, give them the money we are insured for that. Your life is more important than money.”

@waitrose Bought a pack of 6 Easter cards from your Holloway store, got home and found only 5 inside (despite 6 envelopes). Bit frustrating, especially as I need them for a church service this evening @OLHofChristians @SanktusWelfare @CarolineGardn
