@crosswire18 @you_sk I just dont think anybody is asking for a new ridge racer. I love carmageddon, but every version since 2 has been garbage. Even carmageddon Rogue shift this year was so bad that I wish they never made it. No big money wants to get behind these games.

@Customds @you_sk the thing is we used to have a wide variety of racing games that all played way different from each other, but now it’s only this barely simcade handling that’s easier and more boring than all the arcade games that used to exist

I know you’re Japanese but in North America, arcades largely died in 2005. Now we treat them like amusement parks. You get 1 or 2 per city that are 30,000 sqft and the majority of the games are ticket spitters on 60” vertical screens with cell phone games like angry birds. They suck. Pinball arcades are more common.

@Customds @you_sk look at competitive criterion era nfs gameplay. those guys push the skill ceiling way higher than you’d think it could go and it feels extremely fast. even though the handling is “simple” there’s a ton of nuance and expression. it’s fun in a diff way than sims are

Exam approach. First pass of the list you knock out all the easiest stuff that can whittle it down. Nothing that requires travel. Now you have presumably 70 medium-hard tasks. 2nd pass you want to start from easiest again but give up on anything that hits a snag. Sitting there thinking of solutions is time you could be spending on doing. Now you should be down to 30 shitty tasks. 3rd pass you go to completion but abandon at barriers. You’ll likely end up with 10 failed tasks in the end, but 90% ain’t bad.

What do you do when you have 100 things to do in a day but only enough time to do like 5 of them? And don’t give me some bs like “ruthlessly prioritize”. I want actual solutions

What people don't seem to understand is that you can’t convince me Marathon is a bad game just because it isn't a massive hit. My enjoyment of the game isn't tied to its Steam chart. Even if it were to shut down tomorrow, I’d still stand by all the praise I've given it.

That’s fair. To me it’s like taking the combos out of a fighting game and making finishers a single button press. Sure, it looks cool, but the interactivity is elementary and your friend that’s never played has a chance of winning. I don’t get how that’s not boring after 20 min.
