Good Morninggg CT! I saw a trend on Tiktok called the “Achievement Cake.” You list every achievement you had this year, whether it’s financial, mental, physical or emotional. Everything you can remember! Here’s my entry, it’s kinda lengthy, so I hope you watch till the end. What about you? What’s your achievement this year?

When you look at the crypto market these days, the vibe has definitely shifted. VCs are pulling back on startup investments, and the “I made it big through crypto” stories don’t echo as loudly anymore. Bitcoin, ICOs, DeFi Summer, NFTs, memecoins… what’s next? Consumer apps? Everyone keeps saying “crypto isn’t early anymore.” And they’re not wrong. Big players like BlackRock are entering the space, and giants like PayPal are starting to make moves. For those who’ve been building within the old crypto order, this is both a massive opportunity and a real threat. Honestly, the last three years and the next three will mark a real shift in market structure. The focus is moving from startup-led to institution and incumbent-led. Expect more M&A too. You can see this clearly by looking at how VCs made money so far. They either bought Bitcoin early, capitalized on the ICO boom, rode DeFi and NFTs, or invested in early-stage startups and profited from token launches. But now, heading into 2026, tons of tokens that VCs backed are trading below their original valuations. Liquidity, their biggest exit weapon, is drying up. Retail has gotten smarter too. They don’t want to enter rounds where VCs are dumping. They look for fair launches or launchpads with reasonable valuations. And when the token lists, they sell. Some even believe the smartest play now is simply to follow marketing budgets and farm incentives. Naturally, this makes VCs less eager to throw money at crypto startups with questionable work ethic. And the data backs it. Overall investment is down. Going forward, it’s likely that companies like PayPal will build crypto into their products from the ground up, expanding the market in ways startups couldn’t. As for the “mass adoption” that startups have been shouting about for years, honestly, I don’t think the odds are high. Crypto is fundamentally tied to finance. To reach the masses, it would need to become some kind of financial super app. But the reality is different. Most projects are still stuck in the same old loop: token competition, hype, airdrops, listings. Even so-called DeFi “consumer apps” follow the exact same pattern: bring in airdrop farmers with incentives, build hype, launch a token, list on a Korean CEX. That’s the cycle. And most users are mercenaries. They’ll tolerate a bad UX if the incentives are strong enough. But this strategy has a clear expiration date. Could crypto companies survive the way Web2 companies did, by building solid products with moderate incentives? Honestly, I’m not so sure. Realistically, it feels unlikely.

At this point in the cycle, the best thing anyone can do is to improve everything else that was ignored whilst being locked in. - Say hi to your friends whom you have not checked up on. - Work on your physique (some of us got fat from uber eats). - Enjoy hobbies you used to enjoy. - Learn new things, explore new sectors, and upskill everything. - Travel to places you have never been and actually see how beautiful the world truly is. Lastly but definitely the most important thing, have fun and truly enjoy what you worked hard on. Even if you haven't made it this cycle, I wholeheartedly believe that if you keep trying, everything eventually will click. The best traders I know took multiple cycles to figure it all out. Don't pity yourself and enjoy the other things life has to offer. As long as you have time you can always come back. (Why have enemies when you can have friends) 2017 to 2021 @macnbtc was a different person. young, reactive, too much ego and not enough self awareness. most of us go through a version of that stage. you think you have life figured out long before you have lived any of it. back then I thought I was was the shit. running the biggest OSRS gold farm in 2017, pulling $200k a month then starting crypto and losing everything. then losing it again. you only need a few cycles of that to understand what humility actually feels like. nothing teaches you faster than reality taking back what was never yours in the first place. you see the same thing everywhere now. kids flexing cars, watches, hotel rooms, girls, whatever. It is the same pattern in every country and every industry. I have seen guys from 3rd world countries earn their first mil and instead of buying a second passport or improving their life long term, they rush to buy a car and a RM so people think they are someone. I have done my own version of the same mistakes. the truth is simple. nobody cares. everyone is living inside their own bubble with their own battles, their own doubts, their own responsibilities. most people are so focused on proving something that they forget the only thing that actually matters over time is who you become and who you keep around you. money is useful but relationships are the real asymmetric asset. one good friend can change your entire trajectory. one conversation can open doors that money never could. yet people spend more energy trying to win petty arguments online than building actual connection. over the past months I started unblocking people. 10,000 blocked people to 5,000. few I met irl. one of the guys I had blocked for years has become a genuinely good friend. very funny how that works. you grow up a bit and you realise half your enemies were never enemies at all. they were just mirrors showing you parts of yourself you did not want to see CT is toxic but it also has some of the smartest and most interesting people anywhere. people who want to build things, learn things, push the limits, enjoy life. anyway stuff like I'm writing now is thoughts you start having once you have fasted for 50+ hours. care less, connect more. none of this shit matters, we are all gonna die anyway, have a great and blessed day if you made it this far and take care of yourself.
