I’m supposed to take this to my grave but..😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 during my relationship with this girl, one time she called me and said she feels like doing something adventurous so we should go on a cake date. I asked myself what’s adventurous about going on a cake date but I was like okayy cool no yawa. So by close of work, she came to pick me up from the office and we headed straight to the bakery. Before we got there she said “Santo just play along” I was like what are you talking about and she said, “Santorini just play along”. I kept my cool and followed her. When we got to the counter, she told the lady we are about to get married and we would like to order a wedding cake but first, we would like to try their flavors... my jaw just dropped😂😂 I was about to deny it and she gave me some eye eerrhh😂. Luckily, the lady didn’t notice, so we sat down and were served various cakes in different flavors. After tasting them, my girlfriend showered the baker with praise, telling her it was the best cake she had ever eaten. She even told the baker that we would return with our own custom design. The baker was thrilled because my partner told her our budget for the cake was N900k. That was how we managed to have a "cake date" without paying a cent. The cake was actually quite good; however, a week after that date, she began acting strange. She rarely answered my calls and was very slow to reply to my messages. Whenever I asked to see her, she offered flimsy excuses. I was deeply hurt, and every time I complained, she just came up with more excuses. One day, while I was walking through town, I spotted the baker. I tried to hide, but she saw me and approached. She asked if we had enjoyed the wedding cake and said she hoped that what they delivered was exactly what we had ordered. I was completely confused because I had no idea what she was talking about. She then added that my "wife" had come in with her brother a week prior to show them the design they wanted, and that someone had picked it up that Saturday. I played along and said it was really nice and that everyone...

My friend went to visit her future mother-in-law last weekend… and came back single. The woman cooked their local food, but my friend couldn’t eat it. So she told her, “Go to the kitchen and make something for yourself.” My friend boiled Indomie and wanted to fry 2 eggs. Immediately the woman saw it, she shouted; “Two eggs for one Indomie? Is that how you eat in your fàther’s house? We don’t waste food like that here! Things are expensive!” The woman removed one egg. My friend quietly trashed the food, and left. Her boyfriend called her later. She said, “I can’t marry into a family that counts eggs like this.” He replied, “My mum is only trying to train you to be a good home manager.” Few minutes later… He called back, angry: “Why did you send 10 crates of eggs to my mum? Are you trying to insult her?” My friend said: “She can call me if she needs more.” Relationship scattered!

There’s this gist making rounds on TiTok! A father-in-law ended up beating his son-in-law so badly. It all started when the man received a call that his daughter had been rushed to the hospital. When he got there, he was shocked to see her in a critical condition, two of her teeth had been knocked out. He asked what happened. She explained that her husband had come back home while she was trying to calm their crying baby so she could go open the gate for him. She took a little longer than expected, and the moment he entered the house, he started beating her mercilessly until she passed out. The father then questioned the young girl staying with them, who confirmed that the husband had been beating his daughter for a long time. Without hesitation, the father went straight to the son-in-law and pounced on him. He is receiving treatment in the same hospital. The father has since packed his daughter’s belongings and moved her out of her husband’s house. Why you go dey beat your wife????

This is why I keep asking: what do people actually discuss when they’re dating? If dating is meant to lead to marriage, then what exactly are they talking about? If couples are truly open with each other during the dating stage, many marital problems can be avoided. A man should not try to turn his wife into his slave. It’s better they go their separate ways than live like that. No man, in the name of being a husband, should have total control over his wife’s money, the money she worked hard for. What happened to financial independence? Should she have to beg him for money that is originally hers? Marriage is not a slavery institution. No one should subject another person to any form of control or oppression in the name of marriage. I can never agree to such an arrangement. I will not hand over my salary to anyone. I will contribute when necessary, but I remain in full control of my finances. These are the kind of things people should openly discuss during the dating stage before moving into marriage: Finances Sèxual fantasies Children Personal projects Education/academics Business and career goals Where to live Extended family involvement Jobs Hobbies Addictions Etc.

I attended a wedding last month. They are already headed for divorce. Here is what happened. Since they got married, this March was the very first time the wife received her salary. The husband's immediate response was to ask her to transfer everything into his account. She said no, but made it clear she was willing to fully support the home without holding back. The man was not interested in that arrangement. He wants total control of her money. Both families have stepped in to settle the matter. Nobody is backing down. Above all, love God.

My dad once told me that when he moved to Lagos in 1988, the first house he rented at 101 Powerline Orile-Agege was owned by a man named Mr. Ajakaye. Instead of giving him a fixed rent, the landlord simply asked, “How much do you have?” my dad was shocked. It didn’t stop there. Anytime my dad had a new child, this man would waive the rent for that month and the next two months. In fact, from the moment he heard my dad was planning to move into his own house in 1996, he stopped collecting rent entirely. I often wonder if that kindness is what shaped my dad’s own generosity. He ran his house like a form of charity while he was alive and I’ve continued that legacy. For almost 8 years now, I haven’t increased the rent for the tenants in his house, despite how much things have changed. The internet is a big place, but I just want to say thank you to that man Mr. Ajakaye. He was truly special, and I hope this message somehow reaches his children.

“Meet the best landlord in the world, my former landlord, the moment he knew I was building my own permanent place, he gave me his full support, my rent expired last year June but this man didn't allow me to renew my rent again, he gave me extra 6 months rent free to complete my building. You can imagine leaving a rented space to your own permanent site, this man made it possible. I’ll forever be indebted you sir. Thank you for making this journey an easy one..." Woman appreciates kind-hearted landlord Good people deserve to be celebrated 🫶❤️

Most people think business is about getting more clients. Wrong! It’s about keeping them. A client left means you gotta start over. A client who says means recurring revenue. And it’s keep you from constantly stressing. Retention > New clients.
