@AndyNaylorBHAFC I’ve been a season ticket holder for over 50yrs. I’d still have one if we appointed Joey Barton as manager or if we were in the National League. I fail to see the correlation here? I don’t see it as faith in Hurzeler. Supporters outlive managers, chief execs and often owners 🤷‍♂️

The silent majority seemingly still have faith in project Hurzeler and the future. A 90% season ticket renewal rate at the Amex on closure deadline for next season, when the club celebrates 125 years in existence. #BHAFC

@bharichie @ryanadsett Pascal’s been poor as he’s been played out of position. Maybe today’s lineup will allow him to push forward a bit more.

@ryanadsett Georginio has been awful for weeks and Baleba keeps picking up silly yellows and trying to get himself sent off. Not surprised they are only on the bench at all. I’d have started Babis over Gross though as Pascal has been poor since his return.

I sincerely hope hearts lose every game to the end of the season. We’ve been pushed aside for his other clubs and just here to make money on players. Hearts and Union a route to Europe. ❌ Why should we even care about them. #BHAFC

@Brighton_BHA Nothing wrong with Pascal. He’s not yet been played in the right position. Difficult to get in the German WC side when you’re being under-utilised and the team is sliding down the table. Only one way to stop the rot.

@Brightonian_ The club should have ambitions and that was is a perfectly reasonable one to aim for. My point is that by having exactly the same aim as paying supporters we are called out as being unrealistic etc

Please, correct me if I’m wrong. Didn’t Tom Watson say in one of his first interviews at the club that Fabian Hurzeler said the aim for this season is to finish in the top 5? I’ve been a bit out of the loop on here the last few days but I saw something similar with Mitoma too. Obviously no one (or at least very few people) are demanding we finish top 5 this season, but to pretend like expectations are ‘unrealistic’ (imagine telling a Brighton fan after we narrowly avoided relegated in 2018/19 that we’d finish 6th and be unlucky not to be playing UCL football a few years later. You’d be called mad and unrealistic!) appears to be a case of deflecting blame and accountability towards a fanbase who recognise the upward trajectory we was previously on has plateaued recently.
The Brighton Base@TheBrightonBase

🚨| Sources at Brighton say there is no diminishing faith in Fabian Hurzeler at boardroom level. Instead, there is irritation about the level of criticism and a faction of the fanbase pushing the idea that his job will be on the line if results do not improve. #BHAFC [via @AndyNaylorBHAFC]

Mitoma enforces it, it’s not fans being unrealistic to aim high. He wants to reach the champions league and win a trophy with Brighton this season. That’s all.
Brighton Buzz@BrightonBuzzz

🗣️ Mitoma speaks in an interview and states he's 70% recovered, Kaoru also talks about his ambitions for Brighton to finish in the 5th Champions league spot, that HEATED dialogue with Alex Jimenez and his strong friendship with Tanaka & reaching 100 games! 🇯🇵 "I wouldn’t say i’m at 100% but I do feel like I’m improving little by little. 70% recovered at the moment" 🩺 How did you return during your slightly longer absence? 🏋️‍♂️ "Well I was carefully analysing the cause of the injury and making sure that it does’t happen again and then after that I tried to strengthen the area around the injury." "It's difficult to watch the games from the sidelines, I still felt like I want to play in those games and help the team." Describe how you scored that goal against Man City, did you plan to cut inside like that? 🎯 "Well I was moving straight and I could see that was the only place open so I guess I intended to cut in but it felt like my body had moved automatically/reflexively into the space." You had a heated match up against Bournemouth defender Alex Jimenez, how was it? was it fun? What did he say to you?🔥 "Well I knew before the match he is a great player but I felt it even more when I played against him and although it’s very difficult to go one-one-one against a player with that kind of speed, on the other hand it can be fun and although I wasn’t really able to do much in the last match, I definitely want to win against Bournemouth next time." "Yes he was saying things to me in my ear once, but other than that, nothing in particular." On Brighton's ambitions for Champions League, the FA Cup and 5th in the table finish: 📈🏆 "I think there’s a very good chance that we’ll finish in the top five and of course there’s also the possibility we’ll stay mid table since it’s very tightly ranked in terms of points. I think that if some injured players can return and the team can really rally together, there’s a good chance we will be able to aim for a higher position. We also still have the FA Cup left so we’re aiming for that title as well." "Having expiereced the Europa league as a team, I think we're aiming for the next level up, the Champions league" How you feeling about the good performances of Tanaka and him scoring against Liverpool & Chelsea last month? 🇯🇵 "Well I was injured at this time too so he was doing really well and it was inspiring, and he’s a player who definitely has the ability to score so rather than just showing up in dangerous positions he’s also great at taking on loose balls and his mid-range shots are often of high quality so I thought that he has shown great qualities. I did get in contact with Tanaka and we talk about the current situation of our teams, my recovery and sometimes about the Japanese national team." On reaching 100 games in the premier league and future ambitions: 🚀💯 "Well I wasn’t really aiming for a certain number of games, I think that I was able to achieve that result because I just built up my game time, game by game. However, I did have some big absences on the sidelines in my second and third years and it was only in my 4th year I could finally reach 100 games. I felt like I wanted to achieve it sooner but for the future I’d be very happy if I could reach 200 or 300 games and I would like to make further progress." A column on the state of play at Brighton under Fabian Hurzeler. They have dropped from 5th to 12th after 1 win in 10 games, prompting mounting criticism of the head coach from sections of the fanbase. Is it fair or are they divorced from reality? #BHAFC nytimes.com/athletic/69987…

@Col46580873 @AndyNaylorBHAFC If I remember correctly. That squad was decimated by injuries and we were playing youngsters by the end. Europe took its toll on a small squad. Fabian doesn’t have European games this season either.

@Cyber_Seagull @AndyNaylorBHAFC It is no where near as strong as under RDZ. Moises Mac and a prime Gross Dunk and Mitoma just to mention a few. On top of that we were pretty poor for months under RDZ at the end
