بنت خالتي تزوجت وعمرها 22 سنة. كانوا يحلمون ببيت مليان عيال. ما كملت كم شهر إلا وهي حامل، وجهزوا غرفة البيبي بدري حتى قبل ما تخلص أول ثلاث شهور. وبعدين… فقدت الجنين. سوّت عملية، وصحت وهي لسه تحت تأثير البنج. الدكتور ابتسم وقال: “كل شيء تمام، تقدرين تحاولين مرة ثانية قريب.” حاولوا… سنة ورا سنة. كل تحليل يطلع سلبي كان كأنه حكم نهائي. أهل زوجها بدوا يلمّحون. زوجها تغيّر وصار بعيد. وبالأخير تركها. قال إنه يبي “عائلة حقيقية”. تزوج بعدها بسنة، وجاب طفلين ورا بعض. هي كانت مقتنعة إن العيب فيها. تحسب جسمها خانها. بعد ما كبرت ووصلت آخر الخمسينات، وصار فيه أنظمة تخلّي الناس يطلبون ملفاتهم الطبية القديمة بسهولة، قررت تطلع على أوراقها. بين ملاحظات العملية القديمة، لقت سطر صغير مدفون: “مضاعفات أثناء الإجراء. ثقب في الرحم. تليّف شديد.” ولا أحد شرح لها. ولا أحد سوّى متابعة. ولا أحد كان صريح معها. ثلاثين سنة وهي تحمل نفسها ذنب شيء صار لها… مو بسببها. فيه نساء ينقال لهم إن أجسامهم فشلتهم. وأحيانًا الحقيقة إن اللي فشل… كان شخص ثاني.
