1st, education ≠ docile 2nd, saying "protect your daughters" implies they both can't protect themselves and (normally) need a man to do so. in real life tho women don't always have the "big strong man" next to them, so it's more logical to educate your sons.

TLDR both countries have at least offered help to the US in some capacity.
