This is the issue with driving in general. As we move to cars equipped with more tech it's become 'safer' because we know more. Back in the day if you had a flat tire your manual car wouldn't be able to tell you that. The thing is, you shouldn't expect the automaker to tailor the car to your specific preferences and needs, rather, there needs to be improvements in testing alertness for drivers before letting them on the road. This isn't just an issue of safety for the driver but for other drivers around them.

My parents got a flat tire today while driving at low speed. They did not notice the on-screen warning. They are older and their peripheral vision is limited. @Tesla please make a special mode for old people such that red warnings are more visible and come with an aural alert.

Slightly different versions of the Tesla AI5 chip will be made at TSMC and Samsung simply because they translate designs to physical form differently, but the goal is that our AI software works identically. We will have samples and maybe a small number of units in 2026, but high volume production is only possible in 2027. AI6 will use the same fabs, but achieve roughly 2X performance. Aiming for a fast follow to AI5, so hopefully mid 2028 for volume production of AI6. AI7 will need different fabs, as it is more adventurous.

It's sad. I've had my Tesla for 3.5 years and I daresay the standard autopilot has only REGRESSED in its utility. I can barely leave the wheel alone without it nagging every few seconds & can't look at my maps for more than a few seconds before getting warnings that my eyes aren't on the road. The tech should be getting better not worse. I use to feel proud that I had such a futuristic car when I first bought it but now it's less than mediocre. @elonmusk @Tesla
