🐺Tuesday Howl #12 🐺 Tuesday Howl #12: Remco Becomes This Tour's Wout? With Wout van Aert absent, the Tour loses one of its great disruptors. The rider who could force teams to react, create opportunities where none existed, and turn an ordinary stage into something unforgettable. But what if the Tour doesn't lose that role? What if Remco Evenepoel fills it? Before anyone objects, I'm not saying Remco becomes a super-domestique. I'm not saying he starts winning bunch sprints. And I'm certainly not saying he's the same type of rider as Wout. I'm talking about the role. The rider who keeps UAE and Visma awake at night. Everyone expects Remco to ride a traditional GC race for Red Bull. Stay close to Pogačar and Vingegaard. Limit losses in the mountains. Maximize the time trials. Fight for a podium. That's the conventional approach. But is it the most dangerous one? What if Florian Lipowitz rides the steady podium race...while Remco rides the chaos race? - attack from distance - target stages - grab yellow when the opportunity appears - force UAE and Visma to chase moves Not because Remco can't finish on the podium. Because a free-range Remco might win more stages, create more pressure, and make the Tour impossible to control. With Wout out, maybe the Tour's next great disruptor is Remco. What do you think? If you're @RBH_ProCycling are you chasing the podium—or unleashing a world class chaos agent? #TDF2026 #Remco #Wout

🇺🇸 American Howl Report | Stages 14 ➡️ 15 🇫🇷 Sepp Kuss was visible at the front today, doing what he could to help Jonas Vingegaard. But he didn't seem to have the power to launch a decisive attack for JV. Sepp still finished the stage well and now sits as the top American in the GC (19th) although I'm sure that's secondary to him at this point. While just a placement ahead of them, he's opened a significant gap over Brandon McNulty (20) and Sean Quinn (21) who's finally starting to slide down the rankings. Matthew Riccitello, meanwhile, had another quiet day. Paul Seixas looked outstanding, but I found myself rewinding the broadcast trying to spot Ricci during the decisive moments. He ultimately finished around 13 minutes back, continuing what's been a muted supporting role for Decathlon. As has almost become tradition this Tour, Quinn Simmons made the break alongside Matteo Jorgenson. They animated the race early, but once the GC favorites raised the pace, both were swept up as the yellow jersey group rolled through. A few other thoughts... • I'm really impressed with the mentality of Remco Evenepoel and Juan Ayuso. Both have responded to setbacks much better than we've seen in previous Tours. Small gaps form, they stay composed, and they fight their way back instead of unraveling • Paul Seixas is beginning to unleash the French frenzy! Every strong ride raises the excitement another level, and today felt like another step toward that • Jonas is quietly sitting second overall. If you only followed X, you'd think he was having a disaster of a Tour lol. Instead, he's still the closest rider to Pogačar, even if the gap continues to grow Stage 15 prediction... I have a feeling Tadej Pogačar goes for the knockout blow. Today's win looked comfortable per usual. Tomorrow feels like the day he decides to put minutes into everyone. If he doubles his GC advantage before the final rest day, he can head into the final week with far more tactical freedom: perhaps gifting opportunities to teammates or breakaways, then picking one more mountain stage near the end to put an exclamation point on another Tour. What do you think? Does Pog go all-in tomorrow? 🇺🇸🐺 #tdf2026ᴿᴾ

@VeloFute I think tomorrow Pog goes for the kill shot on the GC (by minutes) and Vin goes for the kill shot on the challengers for 2nd (by minutes). The rest (Seixas, Ayuso, Del Toro, Remco, The Lip) all fighting for 3rd.

Another big GC day tomorrow with a mountain top finish on Plateau de Solaison. Pogi might not chase the victory and let the breakaway go but maybe Torito wants it LOL, remember how he spanked Ayuso in Dauphine here. Good night! #TDF2026

@CyclingWerewolf Pogi’s face looked like he was in pain today, tho his result and stats didn’t show that! He’s helped out Del Toro twice now. Maybe he figures that’s enough and will go for the jugular.

@CyclingWerewolf @GCKUSSfan I’m saying his best chance was to save energy and try to follow Pog’s attack, rather than pull him along on 3%. I never thought/said Jonas was going to drop him, just try to follow :)

@Koersklap Haha I know. I was looking for this year's Oscar Onley but this field seems light years above last year's overall especially with how Remco, Ayuso and Del Toro are performing outside of the usual Pog and Jonas and now of course baby alien Seixas.

Preview Tour de France stage 15: 🇫🇷 ⭐️⭐️⭐️| T. Johannessen ⭐️⭐️| Carapaz, Pogacar ⭐️| Pidcock, Arensman, Bernal 🃏: O’Connor 🔫: Paret-Peintre After another display of dominance by Pogacar, Stage 15 brings yet another brutal mountain test. The riders face 184 kilometers and over 4,000 meters of climbing, with everything set to be decided on the fearsome final ascent of Plateau de Solaison (11.3 km at 9.1%). It would be the obvious choice to name Pogacar as the top favourite once again, because if he decides to go for the stage, he will most likely win it. That was also our first thought, but his interview after the previous stage created some doubt. He explained that yesterday’s stage had been one of his main targets before the Tour, while tomorrow’s is a much more complicated one. If UAE decides not to control the race, two breakaway specialists stand out above the rest: T. Johannessen and Carapaz. Johannessen gets a slight edge thanks to his stronger finishing kick. The risk for both is that they may have spent too much energy during their breakaway in the previous stage. If that proves to be the case, we have to look elsewhere, with Ineos holding several strong cards in Arensman, Bernal, and Vauquelin. Riders such as Paret-Peintre, O’Connor, and Plapp would also have a genuine chance. It could also become interesting if riders still close enough in the general classification decide to take advantage of the chaos and move up. We’ve already seen Pidcock use that tactic several times in this Tour, but perhaps we’ll also see riders like Martinez or Skjelmose try something similar. Beyond the battle for the stage victory, the fight between the GC contenders promises to be another spectacle. Seixas continues to strengthen his claim for a podium finish. Can Evenepoel hold on again? And what will Vingegaard do? Will he keep riding against Pogacar, or will Visma shift their focus towards securing second place? If that’s their strategy, it could also reduce the breakaway’s chances of staying away. His mentality is very different this tour. Saying things like "“I have to be honest... It was just a little too fast for me" instead of things like "if I wasn't cold, I could have won" or this "I was a little blocked between the Shimano car and the organisation car,” he said. “I think they slowed me down a bit" come across as genuine reflection not excuses. Although some won't see it that way lol
