@1ddenis1 Nothing was gifted. Team tactics backfired on stage win but white and podium more important, hence an opening for Remco who is actually stronger in sprint.

I hate seeing stage wins being gifted. It literally devalues a worth of what is supposed to be biggest race in a world. It's disrespectful towards everyone, yourself, teams and opponents. It makes race look like a joke #pogacar #evenepoel #tdf2026

Tadej is the best possible team mate Torito could wish for at thai young age. No rivalry, no showing who’s boss, just pep talks from the heart and sincere encouragement and consolation after defeat.

@CyclingWerewolf I have my favorites, but I cheer for all of them and I respect good rides from riders that aren't my favorite. That is the beauty of this sport, in my estimation.

🇫🇷 Post Stage 15: Howling and Heartbreak🐺💔 There may not be another sport that takes fans through a wider range of emotions than cycling. See today's stage...yeesh. Some fans only cheer for one rider or one country. But I think a lot of us end up crossing those lines. Rivalries become respect. Nationalities become secondary to the stories unfolding on the road. I obviously spend a lot of time following the Americans, but my love for this sport really grew from watching the Pogacar vs Jonas TDF battles over the past six years. This Tour was coming to a head for Visma, and today looked like it might finally bring us one more genuine challenge to Pog but also those challenging Jonas for 2nd. Before everything changed, it was just a fun stage! Quinn Simmons unexpectedly fighting for a mountain stage win - what haha? A stacked breakaway. The GC battle building behind as everyone approached the final climb. Then... yeah. The racing was still compelling. Quinn never stopped fighting. Remco took on the UAE duo (very excited to see him win!). But seeing Jonas like that... man. 🇺🇸 Sepp Kuss also went down with Vingegaard, losing a lot of time but managed to finish out the stage. I have yet to see an update on any injuries from him specifically. Moments like that remind you that, beyond the racing and rivalries, these are still human beings putting everything on the line. And as fans, we're human too. We celebrate the highs, feel the lows right alongside them, and sometimes even fire off posts in the heat of the moment that, with a little more time, we might have worded differently (guilty 🙋‍♂️) This sport can be so exhilarating and so heartbreaking all in the span of a single stage though....yeesh. #tdf2026ᴿᴾ

🇺🇸 American Howl Report | Stages 14 ➡️ 15 🇫🇷 Sepp Kuss was visible at the front today, doing what he could to help Jonas Vingegaard. But he didn't seem to have the power to launch a decisive attack for JV. Sepp still finished the stage well and now sits as the top American in the GC (19th) although I'm sure that's secondary to him at this point. While just a placement ahead of them, he's opened a significant gap over Brandon McNulty (20) and Sean Quinn (21) who's finally starting to slide down the rankings. Matthew Riccitello, meanwhile, had another quiet day. Paul Seixas looked outstanding, but I found myself rewinding the broadcast trying to spot Ricci during the decisive moments. He ultimately finished around 13 minutes back, continuing what's been a muted supporting role for Decathlon. As has almost become tradition this Tour, Quinn Simmons made the break alongside Matteo Jorgenson. They animated the race early, but once the GC favorites raised the pace, both were swept up as the yellow jersey group rolled through. A few other thoughts... • I'm really impressed with the mentality of Remco Evenepoel and Juan Ayuso. Both have responded to setbacks much better than we've seen in previous Tours. Small gaps form, they stay composed, and they fight their way back instead of unraveling • Paul Seixas is beginning to unleash the French frenzy! Every strong ride raises the excitement another level, and today felt like another step toward that • Jonas is quietly sitting second overall. If you only followed X, you'd think he was having a disaster of a Tour lol. Instead, he's still the closest rider to Pogačar, even if the gap continues to grow Stage 15 prediction... I have a feeling Tadej Pogačar goes for the knockout blow. Today's win looked comfortable per usual. Tomorrow feels like the day he decides to put minutes into everyone. If he doubles his GC advantage before the final rest day, he can head into the final week with far more tactical freedom: perhaps gifting opportunities to teammates or breakaways, then picking one more mountain stage near the end to put an exclamation point on another Tour. @SJOesq @CoffeeBlackMD I found IF hard to maintain. I didn’t experience that sharpening of the senses that people talk about. Just lots of food noise until I got to eat. Probably because my total daily calories were too low. I definitely prefer to eat breakfast and dinner and skip lunch.

Eating. And eating carbs. Are necessary to improve and rescue a metabolism. Looking back on my days in too low calorie, low/no carb, and intermittent fasting hell. Bang my head against a wall. Dialing the macro details takes often takes an alchemist who knows what he or she is really doing.

To be honest I get the decision if Pogačar wants to ride the Vuelta. Why? 1. This year, no top rider is riding the Vuelta, no Vingegaard, no Seixas, no Evenepoel, probably also no Lipowitz. Only Roglič, Gall, Mas, and Uijtdebroeks are confirmed so far. Why not take the opportunity to make the race for yourself easier and win it more easily? 2. Get it done. Only the Vuelta is missing from the Grand Tour trilogy. Why not make it as soon as possible? 3. Monaco home start. 4. Almeida does not look perfect, and UAE don’t have another leader for this race as Isaac Del Toro will ride only one Grand Tour this year. Plus, in my view it was clear that the UAE were thinking about the Vuelta possibility when planning the calendar and putting a low amount of race days for Pogačar before the Tour. And you? Lance Armstrong said the quiet part out loud yesterday. "Tadej knows damn well what the real record is." He's talking about Tadej Pogacar, who is closing in on his fifth Tour de France. Five puts him level with Merckx, Anquetil, Hinault and Indurain. The official summit of the sport. Lance is saying Pogacar won't stop there. Because the number in Pogacar's head isn't five. It's seven. I’m not sure Lance is wrong. The record books say those seven Tours never happened. Fine. But millions of people stood on the roadside and watched them happen. The riders he beat were, almost to a man, doing exactly what he was doing. We scrubbed the wins from paper. We never scrubbed them from the sport's memory. I'm not defending him. He cheated, he lied about it for years, and he went after the people who told the truth. That part of the story doesn't get softer with time. But there's a difference between a record being deleted and a record not existing. Everyone in the sport knows the difference. Pogacar knows it better than anyone, because he's the one riding in its shadow. That's why Armstrong's comment lands. It's not an old man reaching for relevance. It's the one thing about that era nobody wants to say out loud: you can take a name off a trophy, but the race still happened. So when Pogacar rolls into Paris, he won't be celebrating a record. He'll be counting. Five down. Two to go. Where do you land? Is the record five, or is it seven?

@cycloben2 Start by just switching the Giro and Vuelta. Vuelta is at the worse heat and Giro deals with snow. Switching the two would go a long way. Not sure the Monuments need to change.

I agree and I also strongly disagree. There are certain events where dates are carved in stone, in principle. We once tried what an autumn Grand Tour season would be like, and what a slightly rearranged classics season would look like. Even though all three Grand Tours and every date-modified Monument delivered some of the best races of recent years or even decades, the whole thing still didn’t feel natural. Big races need to stay in their traditional places as much as possible. Of course, riders have to protect against extreme heat, and today we finally saw a visible sign to protect riders. Obviously, if MeteoFrance hadn’t issued the red alert, we would have seen the same as in the previous days, which really was quite grueling... However, I think that if Pogacar truly wants to play the role of riders’ rights advocate seriously, he could start by making race start times more flexible for the TV companies, broadcasters, and local residents alike so that riders finish at 19:30 instead of 17:30, or persuade ASO and UCI to begin stages at 9 am on weekdays. Or he could push UCI to change the rules and bring back half-stages again, one in the morning and one in the evening. Or I don’t know… be innovative, he himself has already taken cycling to a new level on a race-level, now it's time to do the same legally, too. #TDF2026
