When it comes to Iran I wanted to weigh in with my opinion, but recognizing the fact that I'm not going to change anyone's mind, I decided to do something more productive. Research the objective numbers and share them with all of you:
Current national debt: $38.8 trillion which greatly exceeds GDP
Current national deficit: $1.9 trillion, projected to rise to $3.1 trillion within the next decade
Current annual military spend: roughly $1 trillion, with the administration trying to push it to $1.5 trillion
Total cost of the Iraq war: approximately $2 trillion ($2,000,000,000,000.00)
Total cost of all wars post 9/11: on the order of $8 trillion
When you compare Iraq in 2003 when the US invaded to Iran today, Iran has a population that is 240% larger, a military that is 40% larger and the landmass is 280% larger.
I haven’t seen any credible budget or macro analysis that suggests any of this could work out financially in the long run.
Where do you guys think this is headed 🤔
