@Matty_OW @VoltaicAim Revosect definitely wasn't called Revosect at the time but we won't mention it... @cynadote Should we tell them about JustAim, the first ever aim training community?

@Cynadote Kinda true, but when I did 30 min of advanced scenarios and pushed for scores, my gameplay would be nuts

Once you reach Hard or Advanced benchmarks in any aim trainer or similar benchmarks and want to see actual in-game improvement, you should drop aim training and focus on in-game mechanics instead. What the community glorifies as “top aimers” often genuinely lack skill in actual games. This is especially true if you aim to improve in Tac-FPS games like CS, Valorant, or R6. In such games, your in-game mechanics are far more important than the quality of your raw aim. A good Tac-FPS player doesn’t rely heavily on aiming; their crosshair placement and angle clearing are already so precise that aiming becomes nothing more than compensating for a lack of the aforementioned skills.

@sqbon @jizuHvH At that point, use the game no? Doesn’t make sense to replicate the game when you can just play it or practice within it

@Cynadote I wouldn't say drop it but definitely reduce the time you put into aim trainers. You are 100% right on this. I would still recommend that you keep playing your lil 20 min kovaaks warmup to maintain a sort of consistency in your aim when you go ingame

I've made the same mistakes lol, I've grinded static way back in the day where it was just about scores and not about in-game improvement. We are talking about a community that places your worth based on your rank and your scores, where people who can't do shit in actual games get praised as "aim gods", ofc people are going to fall into that trap and ofc it's beneficial for communities to push this ideology when they financially benefit from it. When the paradigm is misleading, a majority will also be misled.

I don’t think this perspective is widely accepted, and that’s the issue. Communities earn money through retention, so their goal is to promote the idea that aim training—and the aim trainers who top the charts—are what you need to achieve greatness in games. I completely disagree. Over the past year, I haven’t earned a dime from aim trainers, which gives me the freedom to say that most of what they’re selling is snake oil for kids who believe this is the path to becoming great. Players like Donk aren’t flashy with their aim; they are extremely efficient. It’s far more important for aspiring pros to understand that they’re only hurting their progress by chasing high scores. Instead, they should view aim training as a tool to develop raw aiming skills to a level where those skills are no longer a limiting factor.

@Cynadote Yeah if your focus is in game performance I agree for sure. I just think it's kind of a widely accepted thing that most people are aware of. Aim training will only get you so far ingame especially if it's a game with a high skill ceiling with complex mechanics / features

@jizuHvH That’s why I mentioned anything beyond Hard or Advanced benchmarks—because at that point, it becomes about who can cheese the system the most or who spends countless hours grinding scenarios for a mere 1–2% improvement. Their time could be much better spent on other things.

@Cynadote this is kind of a nothing burger of a paragraph though, yes; playing the game will make you better at the game. and unless your aim is what is holding you back, you will benefit more by improving your ingame skills kind of an accepted fact no? idk
