STOLEN DATA previously netart.nft STOLEN DATA is now on view for one year at the Lynn NFT Art Museum in Boca Raton. The artist reception and panel talk will take place in 2026, featuring Vuk Ćosić, Rhea Myers, Rodolfo Peraza, and moderator Ariel Baron-Robbins. For more information or to arrange a walk-through, please contact Ariel Baron-Robbins or Dean César Santalo. I did not curate this exhibition. The artists stole that chance from me when we met and quickly became a force. My original idea dissolved and became STOLEN DATA—an exhibition about stealing. Vuk Cosic - Rhea Myers - Rodolfo Peraza

Went to the Boca Raton Museum of Art today to see the Alphonse Mucha exhibit and was reminded that he is the most consequential artist of the 20th Century.

Join us for an online opening and offline activation during Miami Art Week This exhibition is the result of Loop’s longest residency to date, nearly three months of collective work, experimentation, and shared process. Mad World will be presented online in our digital verses, and physically in collaboration with MUD Foundation at O Cinema. Mad World draws from the song’s vision of repetition, loneliness, and fragile beauty, the cycle of faces, places, and gestures that repeat until they become myth. Inspired by Donnie Darko and the atmosphere of “Mad World,” the show connects our works through memory, dislocation, and the search for meaning in a world that keeps circling back on itself. The exhibition begins in a cave, the first cinema, where flickering light turns still images into movement. Like early film experiments where emotion shifted through context, each piece transforms in relation to the others. Following Ursula K. Le Guin’s “carrier bag theory of fiction,” Mad World sees creation not as conquest, but as collection, gathering fragments of time, sadness, and wonder into something whole. Together, we build a contemporary creation myth: a world of familiar faces and worn-out places, haunted by what we’ve seen before, yet still somehow new. After seeing Rhea Myers' (@rheaplex) artwork in a Lynn University exhibit at the Boca Raton Innovation Campus (BRiC), I'm very much looking forward to reading the book Myers wrote, "Proof Of Work." Picking up a copy today!

It is possible to think of a person as a tool to get what you want. A grocery store cashier might be a tool to get food. Yet no human IS a tool, even if used like one. Might this also be true of AI? Is it possible that an AI isn't a tool, either, even if it can be used like one?

My friend Mark Wilk wrote a novella titled "Oligopolis" which is available on Amazon. Mark went to college with me at #Vassar in the early 2000s, and has been a friend ever since. His novella is both really fun and dark and violent, all simultaneously. @Markewilk @Vassar

I just finished reading Mark Wilk's excellent Novella "Oligopolis." It's available on Amazon. It's dystopian science fiction - simultaneously really fun to read, dark, and sometimes-violent. Includes great, beautifully-worded, well-timed sentences that really HIT you. @Markewilk

@GregDember My university library has a copy of the ebook, which I've been reading (I requested they purchase it). I don't think Amazon will start shipping it for another week.

@ThaliaGoldstein What happens in acting classes & why are they important? Thalia Goldstein's book describes acting class activities & cites psychological studies in support of its contentions. It considers how real acting classes relate to the research of psychologists. shorturl.at/Nwzk5

@ThaliaGoldstein Goldstein, a psychology professor, filmed high-school acting classes in United States schools. Her book focuses on the positive impact these classes have on students, considering the classes' structure, discourse, activities, exercises and assignments. shorturl.at/Nwzk5

Some people know this, but when not writing books about theatre education or general professoring duties, my hobby is flying trapeze. Last night I performed in my first circus show as a flyer! A super fun way to kick off publication week.

I'm reading a VERY GOOD new-release (2024) book, Thalia R. Goldstein's "Why Theatre Education Matters" (@ThaliaGoldstein). The book explores the value of high-school acting classes, appealing to empirical evidence and psychological studies. Link to book: tcpress.com/why-theatre-ed…

It's fun to compare the work of the Avatar Orchestra Metaverse group (see the video in my last post) to huge digital shows, like Ariana Grande's collaboration with Fortnite. A YouTube video here: youtube.com/watch?v=RiM0mo…
