We’re still building the same tower, but we may no longer speak the same language. Drew this cover for Citadel21 in 2020. Looking back, it feels like an optimistic time, one big Bitcoin family. But Babylon was always a possibility. @adam3us @hodlonaut

@CypherpunkNow @adam3us @hodlonaut I remember those times. I think I'm between @adam3us and @giacomozucco there? But yeah, it felt like a more tight knit community then. Bitcoin is much bigger now and it's not easy to recreate that feeling.

CYPHERPUNKS OF THE WORLD – SATOSHI NAKAMOTO (2021) In 2021, still shaped by lockdowns, I returned to a 1991 Wired article that defined the early cypherpunk movement. I began asking a question: Was Satoshi part of that world? This led to a larger project — a series of original collages portraying eleven figures who shaped the cypherpunk ethos and wrote its foundational code. I titled the series Cypherpunks of the World, echoing T.C. May’s famous address line. Each portrait uses the same mask from the Wired article, but painted to preserve the recognizable features beneath it — identity and anonymity layered together. Released in May 2021. BITCOIN PIZZA (2020) Created during the Covid lockdown year, when the world slowed down and I suddenly had more time in the studio. Released for the 10th anniversary of the first Bitcoin transaction: the legendary 10,000 BTC pizza. The print includes a fictional quote attributed to Laszlo Hanyecz: “Every satoshi spent on art is a milestone in Bitcoin history.” This piece also marks the end of an era - the final year I signed my prints with my own surname before adopting CypherpunkNow. Released in May 2020. At the time, my studio was located in a former horse stable. HODL! (2019) In 2019, I translated HODL into a volatility curve. A line oscillating between FOMO and FUD, yet rendered in soft, almost candy-like colors. The sweetness of the palette contrasts with the inner tension carried by the word itself. HODL is calm on the surface, but it demands endurance underneath. Released in September 2019.
