@Inkora_Art consider scale too, many people who create make sacrifices all the time, whether it be color, backgrounds, audio, animation quality and some people find it a sacrifice more than worth taking

@Inkora_Art I believe it’s fair you don’t have to make the pilot act as an episode 1. Animating pilots are a good way of testing the water without deciding firsthand whether you want to sacrifice 3-4 years for this, Glitch has the luxury of making the pilot also act as their episode 1.

I would love to make my own animated series one day but considering it would probably be indie that would mean that my episode one would also need to function as a pilot and maaaaaan i do not like starting off stories with a bang.

Let me trace the timeline here because nobody's connecting it. Step 1: Scrape the entire internet. Every book, every article, every conversation, every piece of art, every forum post. Do it without asking. Do it without paying. Step 2: Train a model on all of it. Call it "artificial intelligence." Step 3: Go to BlackRock's Infrastructure Summit and announce: "We see a future where intelligence is a utility, like electricity or water, and people buy it from us on a meter." Step 3 is where you sell people's own knowledge back to them. On a meter. They took the collective output of human thought, compressed it into a model, and now they want to charge you by the token to access a version of what you and everyone you know already created. One Reddit user put it perfectly: "They stole all this data from us, the people, our life's work, creativity, art, by devouring the internet and blowing through all copyright laws. Now they want to sell it back to us in the form of a utility." Imagine if someone photocopied every book in the public library, burned the library down, and then opened a subscription service for the copies. That's the metered intelligence business model. And they're pitching it to infrastructure investors as though they invented water.

i don’t like how you need connections upon connections in order to even land a basic job in the animation industry. I like having animation friends but i do not like that my networking has to carry more weight than my art.

Phew, finally. I made a whole ass model in one day. I just need to rig and get ready for shapekeys and some cool clothes for them to wear and they are all done.

Recently, a student friend who just entered the animation industry asked me what kinds of things they should keep in mind while working in the industry.

I share Kiana's sentiments, I wouldn't be where I am if I never listened to critique but I wouldn't have been "who" I am if I didn't choose what critique to listen to.

-is that it really is possible to dismiss critique that's not helpful to you... ...while also not making them out to be an enemy, both can co-exist!

I come with a big history of online critique and often times even real life critique, It kind of stems mostly from a lack of my own trust in my own vision. Like genuinely, not all critique is helpful. The ones that are helpful are the ones you choose to help you.

Critique is being talked about a lot this week. I’m very pro critique. Most of my job is receiving critique and I’m a better artist bc of it. BUT it worries me that young artists are feeling like they need to listen to EVERYTHING random people online tell them

alot of people cant and/or dont improve with their artstyle beacuse they always restrict themselves to only doing clean colored art instead of freely sketching and doodling, im no master but freely doodling helps a ton in the long run
