Today’s discussions focused on Ukraine’s EU accession process, with the aim of opening new clusters in June, as well as the issue of Ukrainian children forcibly removed during the war. We also stressed the need for an EU-level assessment of the impact of developments in the Middle East, particularly on energy supplies, inflation and food security. At the same time, we reaffirmed our support for Lebanon at this critical stage and look forward to this evening’s High-Level Dialogue with Syria, an important step in strengthening EU engagement in the region.
