I absolutely hate rumors. I see them going around, South Africa being threatened with shut down of electricity supply from neighboring countries. The reality is that South Africa does not need electricity from neighboring countries. First the apartheid government created an energy surplus for South Africa then exported electricity to neighboring countries, then from 2009 to 2016, the democratic government again with the construction of Medupi Power station which is the second biggest coal powered station in the world, along with Kusile Power Station & Ingula Power Station, again created another energy surplus, meaning that South Africa has more electricity than it can consume. Don't be fooled by Ramaphosa's puppet government lies of an energy crisis in order to try loot & privatize Eskom to his corrupt big business cronies, the reality is that South Africa has got more electricity than it can consume & does not need any country to provide us with electricity, because we have coal to last us for the next 200 years. But what neighboring countries must know is that as one example, if South Africa had to stop electricity exports to Mozambique, then the Aluminum smelter in Mozambique would stop working because it's South Africa that directly supplies that smelter & that just one smelter actually uses half of the entire electricity that the whole of Mozambique uses, so if South Africa stops electricity supply to Mozambique, then where will Mozambique get the electricity to supply that smelter. That's just one example. I will make time to come back with all the exact statistics. But the most important thing neighboring countries must know is that South Africa's container terminal at the Durban harbor is the only deep sea terminal in the entire Sadc region & the biggest port in the entire Africa. This harbor is the foundation of all Sadc countries because it connects all our Southern African countries to world trade so the minute we South Africans decide to block neighboring countries from accessing this harbor, this will immediately cripple your economies, so stop threatening us with useless threats of stopping electricity you import into our country because not only do we not need that electricity, we can instantly cripple your economies by blocking your access to the Durban harbor, so don't try threaten us with economic blockades that won't affect us but will cripple you. We know exactly what's going on in the Sadc region & entire Continent so you can't threaten us. We are telling you peacefully that we are not xenophobic but right now we are dealing with the invasion of your criminals who come into our country to sell drugs, violently hijack our cars & take them across our borders into your countries, sell our women & teenage children into human trafficking, murder, rape & every other sordid detail you can think of
