CONGRATULATIONS ON "MAKING IT AT 10!" ⭐📚 Benson's Reading Specialist, Donna Suptela, "Made it a 10!" Ms. Suptela crafted a book walk centered around the book 'Turkey Trouble' by Wendi Silvano. What is a book walk? 📚 Students rotated through 10 stations inside Benson Primary where pages of the book were printed to poster size for staff to read to their classrooms. Additionally, key vocabulary and questions were provided for classroom discussions. The culminating event was a ballot box where every Benson student got to place their vote for the best turkey disguise. This was our second book walk with plans for future walks in the works! 🗳 #WeAreItasca10 #MadeItA10

🎃 AUTUMN VIBES ARE IN THE AIR AT BENSON PRIMARY! 🎃 It was all smiles for our NDSEC & morning preschool students at Benson Primary yesterday! Students enjoyed participating in a traveling pumpkin patch and taking part in fun, fall-themed activities, generously brought to them by Northeast DuPage Special Recreation Association (NEDSRA). Each student even received their own pumpkin! 🍂🍁 #WeAreItasca10

That's a wrap on our D10 School Safety Week! 🚸 Throughout the week, students participated in a series of hands-on learning, including bus drills 🚌, fire drills 🚒, and police drills 🚓, each designed to equip them with the necessary skills to respond effectively in critical situations. Metra Rail 🚆 presented on safety tips while you are near the train tracks. Benson students visited the mobile fire safety house. The Benson Bike Bus 🚲 provided a fun and interactive way for students to understand the importance of road safety while riding bikes together to school. We extend our gratitude to our incredible community partners for their invaluable support during School Safety Week. We're excited to announce that D10 schools will be facilitating an entire week dedicated to educating our students about different facets of school safety. Throughout this week, all schools will participate various safety drills.
